Chapter 35

All My Desire

Chloe

“I didn’t think she’d be so mad at us,” I say as we walk the hall hand in hand toward our bedrooms.

Our private wedding ceremony was so beautiful, not what I was expecting, but stunning. It was on the beach with just the two of us, but the location and the gorgeous little setup Gregor arranged was amazing. However, Eileen was more than miffed when we returned, and she saw the wedding bands.

“She’s not angry with us, she’s furious with me.”

“Now that I think about it, I think I’d be livid with Ally if she married someone without telling me first.”

Gregor shrugs. “It will blow over. It’s not like we’re not going to go through with the wedding and engagement party she has planned.”

“No, but I get it. She was right here. She could have been there. I see why she’s upset.”

I go to release his hand and head to my room. He tightens his hold and pauses in the middle of the hall. I look up into his eyes.

“Where do you think you’re going?”

“To my room. My things are there.”

He shakes his head. “No, Mrs. Hennessy, they aren’t. Your things are all in your husband’s room, where you will be staying for the rest of this trip.”

“Oh, I didn’t think about that,” I say as he wraps me in his arms and tugs me into his chest.

He pecks my lips and begins to sway, then places his lips against my forehead. My skin hums with that undeniable connection. A smile comes to my lips when he starts to sing the lyrics to “If You Don’t Know Me by Now.”

He reaches into his pocket and pulls out his phone. “Come on, I want to dance with my wife,” he says and nods his head toward his bedroom.

My heart stutters every time he calls me his wife. I’m still trying to figure out what made me marry him. At this point, I’m taking it a moment at a time. It’s how I’m breathing.

I lace my fingers with his and allow him to take me into the room. The song begins to float through the room, and he pulls me into his arms again. I stare into his eyes and latch on to the love I see there.

The song he’s chosen isn’t lost on me. I used to think I knew this man better than I know anyone. Now, I’m learning I’ve only begun to know him. I think I love this version more than the one I fell for so many years ago.

He cups my face and kisses me tenderly. Tears start to fall. It’s as if he’s kissing away the last of the past and the pain it holds. I open to him and allow him in.

“I love you,” he says before he deepens the kiss.

I ground myself to the here and now, allowing him to back me up toward the foot of the bed. He turns me so swiftly, I gasp. Wrapping me in his arms from behind, he starts a slow trail of kisses against my skin. I bite down on my lip and close my eyes.

Each kiss is scorching but holds so much promise. When he releases the zipper on the white dress I’m wearing, a chill runs through me. The dress floats to the floor and I shiver.

“Trust me, Chloe. I’m going to cherish you with every breath I have.”

My reply is caught in my throat as he cups my breasts and begins to knead them as he sucks on the flesh between my neck and shoulder. A moan slips from my mouth as he starts to slowly slide his palm down my center.

“Gregor,” I cry out as he pinches my nipple while slipping two fingers inside me with his other hand.

“I love you more than life itself. You’re so wet. I want you so much.”

I turn in his hold and place my hands on his waist. He pulls his hand from between my legs and places both his palms on my ass. Kneading, massaging, and caressing my skin before spreading my cheeks to slip his fingers in from behind.

I bite my lip as I look into his eyes and start on the buttons of his shirt. Neither of us is in a rush. I take my time pushing his shirt from his shoulders once I have the buttons free.

I take my time to take in the raw power that comes from this man. His body is still as powerful and impeccable as I remember from the first time I ever gave myself to him.
