After cleaning up, we dress and walk out to the yard. Reid leads me to the trees, lying on the hammock first to secure it before I join him.
He holds me snugly against him, and I take in our surroundings as he trails his hand up and down my arm.
Light is peeking through the trees, creating streaks on us. Everything is quiet and peaceful. The moment is just beautiful.
“You feel it too?” I murmur. “Something…”
“It’s love, Cassie,” Reid utters softly, making me look at him. “I feel so damn happy with you,” he goes on. “You’re my sun and moon. Every moment we’re together is like writing messages that only we can understand. I love you. Yet, those three words feel too simple for what we have.”
My eyes start to water, overcome with a rush of emotions. “I love you, too. I’ve always loved you. It’s only deeper now. You’re a safe yet wild and beautiful place for me. A sanctuary that gives me peace. You’re everything, Reid.”
“So are you, Cassie.” He kisses me slowly and passionately. And I know. I just know he’s the one I’ll love forever.
