A low, deep voice entered my ears, coming from directly behind me. “I was hoping you would come back up here.” The voice was manly, husky, and kind of familiar. It made all the air in my lungs come out in a whoosh, the small hairs on the back of my neck prickle and stand up. He went on, “You and I have a few things to talk about, princess.”

Princess. What little air I could get in my body suddenly choked me, and my eyes widened as I stared out at the club below. I’d only met one man who ever called me that, and as far as I knew, that man shouldn’t be here. He shouldn’t be here because I’d only ever met him in the Playground.

Because he was a stranger to me. He wasn’t someone I knew. He wasn’t someone I’d met before. He wasn’t…

As much as I wanted to argue with myself, I couldn’t hide from the fact that dragon man was behind me, and I had to turn around and face him. So that’s exactly what I did.

Holding my head high, I spun around, clinging to the railing behind me for support as I met the green eyes of a man who’d always kept to himself any other time I’d seen him. I stared at an heir whose face wore a scowl and whose body wore a tight black shirt. An heir with blonde hair and a towering figure that made me feel like a child.

Or maybe I felt like a child because he was thirty-something years old, the oldest would-be heir around.

Cade Cunningham.

Cade fucking Cunningham stared down at me with an expression that made everything in my body go haywire. It was like we were back in the Playground, about to get to know each other in the most intimate of ways. We weren’t in this club. Zander wasn’t downstairs with Luca. We were alone. I couldn’t fight the way that my body grew instantly hot, the fire inside of me rearing its head in remembrance of what this man could do with that body.

Shit.
