We spent the night together, cuddling in bed and kissing. We melted into each other like butter. Our skin melding into one as we fucked and came. I didn’t want him to leave, and I didn’t want to sleep. There was something about him being here that made me feel completely full.

I kissed at his forehead as he slept on my chest. The skin around my nipple raw from where he’d been sucking. It was a lot of mouth action, and that site had been right about the oral fixation. I enjoyed that aspect of it. I gave him a lot of stuff to suck on, and it served me well for him to work his mouth around my nipples and anywhere he could on my skin, placing his precious kisses with his soft lips.

“You don’t have to keep kissing me,” he mumbled at me in a haze. “And you should go to sleep.”

I knew I should’ve been sleeping already. We both had to be in college. I was teaching, and he was probably swimming. I was just glad we didn’t have any lessons together tomorrow. I couldn’t bare to think of what it would be like to see him go from my bed to his seat in the classroom.

“I don’t want to waste a moment,” I whispered back.

“I—I have a question,” he said softly. “Did I really do well on the test?”

Surprisingly, he did. In the week that I’d seen his outfit fall from his bag, to right now, so much had changed. I didn’t think that was possible. I’d almost lost hope for him. “You actually did well,” I told him. “I knew you would though.”

“No you didn’t,” he giggled, cuddling himself closer to my chest.

He was right. I didn’t know, but I wanted to believe it, and perhaps in a way I’d manifested him doing well.

I fell to sleep shortly after. It was pleasant for the first time in while, feeling someone beside me, waking up in the middle of the night, and then falling back to sleep in the comfort of their embrace. it’s what I’d been missing for a long time, and on the occasions I did have that comfort blanket of another person, I never got used to it. And I knew I couldn’t get used to having Asher with me, he was going to graduate, and he was going to move away. This was temporary, everything sabot this moment was temporary and I would just have to deal with it.

I woke before him, so I made breakfast. I was excited and eager to cook for him, fulling some strange fantasy from my heart and mind. The idea that it was oddly couple-like, even though this was nothing more than a fling. But neither of us could deny the attraction, and neither of us could stay away from one another.

Cracking eggs into a hot pan with a little oil, I made fried eggs. I toasted some bread and slathered butter across them. It was nice to have this motivation in the morning. Alongside the eggs and toast, I brewed up a pot of hot coffee, and poured glasses of fresh orange juice I’d bought from the wholefood market.

Asher walked into the dining room dressed in a robe from the back of the bathroom door. He rubbed his face and tussled a hand through his messy hair. “Breakfast?” he asked, sniffing the air as he continued to rub at his eyes. “Oh my god, I’m so hungry.”

I pulled out a chair for him. “Eggs, toast, juice. I would’ve had meat, but I’m cutting down after I watched a documentary.”

He didn’t seem phased by any of that. “Eggs are good.”

With the plates of food, I approached the table again. The pot of coffee sat in the center with a small pot of creamer and some sugar beside it.

He added hot sauce across his eggs before piercing them with a fork and cutting them down the middle with his knife, forcing out all the yolk. He collected it up on the toast, almost using it as a sponge for the liquid. I watched him until he made eye contact and then I started eating.

“This is good,” his voice, muffled behind the food. “You make good eggs.”

It was incredibly basic, considering all the cooking shows I watched. If any of those hosts watched me make any of this, I’m sure I’d be forced to slap two slices of bread at either side of my face and be called an ‘idiot sandwich’.

“I usually just have a protein shake in the morning,” he said, looking me over. “I guess I had a couple of those last night.” He winked at me. “Your bed is actually so comfy too. The mattresses back at the frat house aren’t the best because we prioritized drinking and stuff.” He pressed the lip of the glass of orange juice to his mouth and within seconds he drank it all.

“No regrets then?” I asked, and suddenly found myself turning into the needy guy you never wanted to interact with. “I mean, sleeping over.”

He snickered. “I had fun. But, I’ll have to leave before you, so if you want to shower together, we should do it soon because I’m serious, I need to head back to the house so I can say I’ve been on a run, which I never do, but times are changing, I bottom now, I can pretend to run as well.”

“You take a shower,” I told him. “It’ll give you a head start.”

The longer I stared at him, the more I was falling into a hole where his face was the only face I ever wanted to see. I enjoyed being around him, which was strange considering I’d previously wanted him to leave my classroom and never come back, several times in fact. I’d filed reports and spoke to his coach about dealing with his problem behavior. Maybe all he’d been searching for this entire time was to get fucked.

He showered and dressed and gave me a passionate kiss.

“Did you use my toothbrush?” I asked, staring into his eyes.

“I brought mine,” he said. “How can I be good at oral if I don’t take care of my oral health?” he asked, kissing me again. “I’ll see you later.”

It sounded like a promise. I liked the sound of a promise. “I’ll see you later.”
