He let out a soft sigh, his focus and attention on the road as he spoke. “When I paid Ian and Seth a visit for harassing you, I discovered that she was living there. I had hoped she’d move out and come to her senses.”
“She was involved in the hostage takeover at the resort,” I said.
“I know.”
I pulled my hand back as though I’d been burned. “How the hell did you know that? How many secrets have you been keeping?”
He placed his hand back on the steering wheel, his jaw tight. “More than I care to admit.”
“What does that mean, Jaxson?” I couldn’t believe he’d been hiding from me that he knew Emma had been involved in the hostage ordeal at Blue Sky Resort.
He let out a heavy sigh and glanced in the rearview mirror. “Can we have this conversation later?”
“No. I want to have the conversation now.” He’d been pissed when I’d kept secrets from him. How come he could keep secrets from me?
