“Colton, how long do you think it would take to get to Tabiq by boat?”

I raised a brow looking down at her. “I have no idea, why?”

“Because I’d like to see where your mom grew up. I’d love to learn some of their traditions.”

I didn’t know much about them either. “You want to know the Tabiqian culture for the research on the orphanage and how that will be accepted when we put the adoptions option in place?” I asked.

“That too. But someday, we might want to have children of our own, and it’d be nice for them to know where they came from too. South Dakota, Boston, and Tabiq,” she smiled.

Every time I thought I couldn’t love her any more, she surprised me, and showed me yet another part of her that blew me away.

“I’m sure six months will give us plenty of time to stop in Tabiq. Thank you for loving me,” I said.

“Colton Marzoni, you make it so easy to love you, because you love me right back.” She kissed me lightly, then rested her head on my shoulder.

We had six months of just the two of us, to celebrate. But tonight, we celebrate as a family. “What do you say, want to join the others?”

“In a minute. I want to enjoy being in your arms under the stars for just a moment longer.”

She was right, they could wait a little longer.Maybe I should’ve asked her to marry me when we were all still on shore, so we could start our happily-ever-after right now.
