“How’d you find this?” I snapped at Cale.

“I just told you. It’s on OnlyFans. I’m a fan of hers and—”

I grabbed a fistful of his shirt and pulled him closer. “Cale. I need you to listen to me. Do not show that to the boys. Okay? I can tell you about it later. But right now, I need you to promise me you won’t tell a soul.”

His face lit. “So itisyour place? Does that mean you know BabyBelle? Can you introduce me to her?!”

“I can introduce you,” I said, handing him his phone back, “as long as you keep this a secret.”

“Hm.” Cale considered it. “Get me a date with her and you’ve got yourself a deal.”

“Fine. Fuck it, a date. Whatever,” I growled. At this point, I’d agree toanythingjust to get him to shut his mouth.

He pocketed his phone and pumped his fist. “A date with BabyBelle?! Alright!Sick!”

Before he wandered off, I grabbed his wrist and stared into his eyes. “Cale. Not a word. Understand?”

“I got ya, Rust.”

Johnny came back from the bar, two pints in hand, just as Cale left.

“Weird kid,” he said, and passed me my beer. “He really justhadto show you his favorite porn star, eh?”

I chuckled. “Yeah. Yeah, weird, isn’t it?”

Johnny held up his pint glass. “Hey. Here’s to us. Best fuckin’ friends forever.”

“Forever,” I said, and our glasses met with aclink.

We drank. The beer sat heavy in my stomach. I felt fucking rotten.

Johnny cast his gaze into the distance. “Whew.”

“What’s up, fella?” I asked.

“I was just thinking, imagine how the dads of those OnlyFans girls must feel. I know I’d be heartbroken. Thank God Izzy would never do anything like that. You know?”

“Who knows,” I croaked. “Maybe they’d still be proud of their daughters?”

“You know what? With the way things are today? Probably.”

He laughed, but I felt sick.

How much more could I keep secret from my best friend? Wasn’t this why he’d asked me to keep an eye on Isabelle? Wasn’t this exactly the kind of thing he wanted to know about his daughter?

Johnny could sense something was wrong. He eyed me with concern. “You okay, big fella? Is something wrong?”

“Johnny … I …”

I don’t know how to tell you this.
