“Five bucks?! That’s it? You need to charge more. Ten bucks, at least. Probably more like fifteen or twenty.”

“Considering I don’t do nudes, I can’t really charge that much more. The market wouldn’t support it. If I doubled my price, I’d likely lose enough subscribers that the extra revenue per subscriber wouldn’t be worth it. Price is an equation, you know? You have to find that sweet spot. For me, from the research I’ve done, that’s five bucks.”

“I guess you’d know better than me,” he said, and his bottom lip jutted out, impressed. “How many subscribers do you have?”

“It fluctuates, but the average is around ten thousand.”

“Damn, really? That’s—” He tapped his chin and quickly did the mental math. “Holy fuck, Isabelle. That’s a good chunk of change.”

“I mean, it’s not professional athlete money,” I said. “But yeah, I do alright.”

He laughed. “Alright? Fuck. You’re nineteen years old and you’re making fifty g’s a month. You’rekillingit, girl. You’re going to be filthy rich in a few years.”

I showed my palms. “Whoa, whoa. Let’s not get carried away. I know this isn’t my forever job. The money’s good now, but who knows how long it will last?” I paused. When I spoke again, my tone was serious and vulnerable. “So … what do you think?”

“Honestly, Isabelle, I’m really impressed,” he said. “I can tell you how seriously you take this. It shows on your page, in your pictures, and I can hear it in your voice when you talk about it.”

“Of course I take it seriously. It’s my business,” I said. “But that wasn’t what I was asking you about, Rust.”

“What were you asking?”

“I know you’re a private guy,” I began, speaking carefully, “but could you see yourself dating a girl who has pictures like those”—I pointed at my phone—“on the internet?”

“Honestly?” He looked at me, then the phone, then at me again. “I’d show her off to everyone. Because this girl is adreambabe. Ten out of ten.”

I started to grin. “Then why don’t you kiss your dream babe already?”
