I thought of Claire, waiting for me back at the cabin. Thought of all the things I still wanted to do with her. All the things I still wanted to do to her.

“You alright, Beaumont?”

I grunted. I didn’t want a heart-to-heart with Sebastian Cavanaugh right now.

“There’s also something that I wanted to give you a heads up about,” Sebastian said, pushing past the awkwardness that had enveloped the room. “It looks as if these assholes plan to abduct at least three more witches from the Mystic Springs Autumn Festival this weekend. I’ll have my men on the ground, but it would be nice to have some backup.”

“I’ll be there.” Because, right now, there was nothing more that I wanted than to destroy these fuckers.
