“Are you offering one?” Sophia asked, breathlessly. She knew what a danger this was now. She had only had one night of passion with Jeremy, and that had left her not only excited by him but caring for him. If she was to have another night, she wondered what it could do to her heart, as well as her body.
I am quickly becoming devoted to him. Perhaps… I am even in danger of being in love with him.
“I am offering.” Jeremy seemed to flick his eyes over the stalls, checking no one was looking their way before he lifted her hand to his lips and kissed the back.
He held that touch, his lips moving against her bare skin, before he offered a playful nip. Sophia chewed her lip to stop the sudden breath escaping her. “Silence me on this matter, and I promise you I will be quiet. I would never ask you to do something you did not want to, but if you say yes…” He smiled a little as he looked at her. “Something I believe you wish to say, then I am offering more than last time.”
Sophia’s eyes began to wander. They no longer stayed on Jeremy’s face and the angular features there, but they darted over his body and the sharp suit, from the broad shoulders down to the narrow waist. The mere thought of what he was offering excited her, until a pool developed between her legs that made her sit taller in her seat.
“You are offering everything?” she whispered.
“Sex? Yes,” he added with a wink of mischief. Sophia thought about it. She even considered saying no, but when he kissed her hand another time, she couldn’t refuse.
“Yes.”
“Yes?” he repeated, as if he couldn’t quite believe what she had said.
“Another night together, yes. You have a deal.” She nodded. The play was a distraction again. The music grew louder, and they both looked toward it. Sophia watched as the character of Helena on the stage set her sights on a man and made her way toward him.
Perhaps, I should be more like her. Unashamed of what I want.
Sophia leaned toward Jeremy, whispering in his ear.
“Nick does not know where I am tonight. I do not have to go home after the play ends.”
Jeremy smiled wider, showing he understood.
