Her phone buzzed, and she saw a text from Nash:

“I found your jacket. You want me to bring it over?”

Her heart did a little flip—it shouldn’t when this was all just a PR stunt, and yet there was no telling that thumping little ticker what was real or not. She quickly wrote back:

“Maybe you should wait until tonight. Our concert went a little too well at Noteworthy, and now we have people with cameras roaming the premises to catch sight of you. I have to say you’re pretty popular.”

Her phone vibrated almost immediately with his response:

“If anyone can sneak in without getting caught, it’s me… but you’re right. Tonight sounds better. I’ve got something to show you.”

And just like that she put her fear of future heartbreak on hold. The chance to see Nash was too tempting.
