Lay’s eyes lit up. “I like the way you think, Mav.”

Lay bolted from my hotel room.

Riff looked back at me and blew me a kiss. “Goodnight, princess.”

He shut the door.

“Fuck you,” I whispered.

Riff wasn’t wrong. Neither was Lay.

Any other time I would have been in that bar around the corner.

Instead, I sat back down on the corner of the bed, holding my phone. Now I was drinking a beer.

Wondering what I was supposed to do about Madison.

Luc scoredon me within the first minute of the game.

That’s when I knew the game was over.

The energy from theInci Warriorsand the crowd was intense.

And my head was not in the game.

The second goal came just two minutes later from Roman.

It was a shot I should have had too.

He went top right shelf on me, just as I predicted as he took the shot.

I just didn’t move fast enough to stop it.

Coach called a timeout and yelled at all of us.

That put a little spark in the team.

Except for the fact that Lay was still hungover from the night before.

Abel was looking for a fight in the worst way.

He tried picking a fight with Luc. Nothing happened.

He tried picking a fight with Nolan. Nothing.

When he tried fighting Roman, there was no fight there.

He did, however, catch the attention of Cain.

And when Cain pushed at Abel, that meant Remi had to jump in.

Soon everyone started to get tangled up, pushing and shoving at each other.

The fans loved it.

The announcer played a sound clip of a bell ringing, indicating a fight.

The refs broke everyone apart before an actual fight could happen.
