Lay pulled at me.

Remi pulled at Riff.

The second Remi touched Riff…fuck.

Riff spun around and took a swing at Remi.

Remi dipped back and out of the way enough that the punch missed.

Now Remi had a clear shot at Riff though.

And Remi’s fist was locked up tight, ready to unleash.

Coach blew the whistle.

Remi pushed Riff out of the way, then he looked at me.

“Pull your shit together,” Remi barked at me.

He skated off.

Riff looked at me. “Next time I’ll make you swallow your teeth.”

“Fuck off,” I snapped.

“Whoa,” Lay said, pulling at me. “What the hell is your issue today?”

I threw an elbow and knocked Lay back.

I found my goalie stick and swiped it up.

Then I went to the net and put my mask on.

I crouched down and smacked the ice with my stick.

I was ready to take on my entire team.

Sticks, pucks, fists, whatever it would take to get this horrible feeling off my chest.

Even if I did fight them all, it wouldn’t change a thing.

I knew who I wanted to get my hands on.

And I was going to wait until the perfect time to do so.

I keptto myself for the rest of the day.

Then it was time to gear up for the game.

As I sat there getting ready, Remi plopped down next to me.

“How bad is it?” Remi asked.

“What?”

“You know we’re not blind around here, right?”

“Bad enough that I need everyone to stay away from me.”
