Not with Madison.

Not with Grace.

I stepped back from her door.

I looked at the roses in my hand.

I wasn’t even sure if Madison liked flowers. If she liked roses.

And who was I to suddenly become some cliché man showing up like this?

I shook my head and walked down the hallway.

Outside the building, I threw the roses out.

If I was going to do this… I needed a better - and bigger - plan.

(rightnow)

I hada fleeting idea of what I wanted to do.

I talked myself out of it ten times.

Then I saw her.

I had never seen Madison look as pretty as she did walking around the event.

She had always been dressed in some variation of black.

Today it was some dark peach colored dress.

Her hair pulled back, sprawled across her back.

When I looked at her, I thought about the smell of her hair. Or the way her hair got in the way if she climbed on top of me while we were-

I made my daring move and climbed up on the stage.

Bad setting and bad timing…

What more did I need for a romantic gesture, right?

Before I knew what was happening, I grabbed the microphone and started talking.

Then the words finally slipped from my mouth.

… I’m in love with Madison…

Half of the other people there just stared at me, with no idea what I was talking about.

The other half began to look around. Some looking for Madison. Some looking for Alonso.

I chose to look right at Madison.

There was no looking away now.

I pointed to Madison. “Right there. That beautiful woman right there. I’m in love with her. I’ve been in love with her for a while now. And I can’t keep it to myself anymore. No matter what happens.”

Madison turned her head.
