“You were standing too fucking close to my girl, bitchboy. Next time, it will hurt worse. Now move out of my fucking way.” The last part comes out as a growl. He swallows and moves back, stumbling a bit but recovering swiftly trying to save face for his minions.

Jogging toward the girls locker room, I lean against the wall waiting to see if she comes out. A few of the girls come out and look me up and down. They are merely insects, blocking my view. My girl comes out minutes later. She stalls when she sees me. Her cheeks bloom red and my cock jumps. I push off the wall and walk over to her slowly not wanting to scare her and send her running even though everything in this moment feels urgent and vital.

“What are you still doing here?'' she asks. Christ. Her voice is like chamomile tea. I come to stand in front of her and take a moment to breathe her in.

“Waiting on you.” I say simply, still invading her space. She reddens even more and dips her head before lifting it once more. “Fuck.” I curse slightly and I don’t mean to, but holy shit, I swear I just saw our entire lives flash before my eyes. I am fighting to breathe right now, praying I don’t pass out from the intensity of my need for her, but her scent, that innocence mixed with honeysuckle is fucking killing me.

“I can’t talk to boys.” She says this matter of factly before walking ahead of me toward the front doors.

“Ok. Don’t talk. Can I walk you home?”

“My dad is picking me up.” Damn. I walk beside her the rest of the way, not touching her and not speaking, just following her like the possessive stalker she is going to turn me into. We come to the exit and before I can grab her and say anything else, a car horn beeps and I look up to see who I presume is her father. She runs around me and ducks into the car. A few seconds later another girl gets in and I figure it is her twin sister. Dear old dad doesn’t miss the way I track her every move. Not if the crosses he is shooting at me is any indication.

“Keep looking.” I say under my breath. “This won’t be the last you see of me.” When he drives off, I hop on my bike and trail a few cars behind them. Told you. A fucking stalker. I watch as he takes each turn and my heart begins to speed up. As we get closer to a destination that seems vaguely familiar, my gut begins to tighten. The final turn supports my suspicion. “No fucking way.” They turn into the garage across the street from my house and everything clicks into place. This is why we moved here. I was meant to meet her. She was meant to be mine.

CHAPTER 6

I get in the car releasing a deep breath and pray my father doesn’t ask me about Alex. I can feel my father’s eyes on me in the rearview mirror and I try to scrunch down in the seat. Luckily, Rayna picks this moment to get in the car as well. “Hi Father.” She says as soon as she is inside.

“Rayna. How was school?”

“It was fruitful.” Always the obedient daughter.

“Did you witness today?” Yes you heard that question correctly. He expects us to do this at school. I could never. I am too shy.

“I did. I think she might show up at youth bible study.” See. That is why she is his favorite.

“That is the way to honor the Lord our Savior. Great job Rayna.” He purposely says her name so I know he is not praising me. It used to bother me, but over the years, I no longer care.

“Were you talking to that boy?” She whispers in my ear so my father won’t hear.

“I was wondering the same thing, Rayna.” My father says from the front seat. My sister looks sheepish, noting he heard us.

“No father, he had just walked out of gym class.” Please let him leave it alone.

“They are sinners, Imogen. Satan's disciples. You are a beautiful girl and boys like that only want one thing.” Rayna snickers and rolls her eyes. “Do you know what that one thing is, Imogen?”

“Yes father.”

“Your virtue, Imogen. It goes for you as well Rayna. Boys like that with the ink of the devil on their skin, are trouble and they are not to be trusted. Do I make myself clear?”

“Yes father.” Rayna and I speak at the same time. We are pulling up to the house when I hear the motorcycle roar. My eyes cut across the street in a quick glimpse, but I know it is him. Seeing him take his helmet off, does something to my breathing and makes my stomach convulse.
