He laughed softly. “So responsive, baby.” I clenched, squeezing his cock which was still inside me, and a warning growl came from deep in his throat. “Playing with fire, Rose.”

I pulled the sheet around me as I watched him pull on his jeans. He wasn’t wearing boxers or briefs, completely bare. His jeans hung low on his hips, just enough for me to catch sight of that beautiful V that disappeared under the waistband.

“You going?”

“Nah, baby. But I do want to talk. So come get dressed and you can make me a coffee.” He walked around the bed, crouching at the edge next to me. “Need you to know this shit is serious.”

I nodded. “Just give me a minute.”

He leaned over and placed his lips against my forehead. My body tingled at the contact. He held them there for longer than a few seconds before pulling back and giving me the sweetest smile and disappearing out of the room.

My body relaxed and I sighed dramatically as I splayed myself on the bed, staring at the ceiling wondering if I was in some weird dream or alternate universe. Blizzard and I had had our moments, but I knew he was still confused and not entirely convinced he could trust me yet. But here he was. What had changed?

I threw the covers off and found my robe, tying it around my body and going to the bathroom before finally venturing out to the living room.

Blizzard stood leaning against my kitchen counter, still shirtless and coffee in his hand. “You took too long. I got up fucking early this morning, I needed coffee.”

“You’re so impatient.” I rolled my eyes stepping past him to find a cup for myself. His arm hooked around my waist and he pressed against my back. Brushing the hair away from my shoulder with his free hand he swept his lips across my neck. I shivered, goosebumps appearing on my skin.

Blizzard chuckled lightly, releasing me and leaving me standing frozen as he made himself comfortable on the sofa. I ignored his stare as I made myself a coffee.

“Couldn’t wait any longer.”

I held my hot cup between my hands. “For what?”

“For you.”

Hiding a smile with the rim, I sipped the hot liquid. I couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement flow through me. “Explain?”

He let out a sharp snort. “You really gonna make me do this, huh?”

Shrugging, I tried to calm my heart that raced inside my chest. Blizzard was one person who’d put me first and cared for me when I was at my worst. He and Chelsea had pulled me to the surface when I’d been slowly drowning—the weight of my mistakes dragging me down. Blizzard hit me full force with his subtle but commanding presence. Pushing his way into my life and making me laugh when I didn’t even want to live.

“We’ve been through some shit.” His eyes stayed connected with mine as he spoke, “I don’t want to fuck around with this. I know I told you I wanted more time to see if I could trust you again. But I kept fucking thinking, what if you got hurt or something worse?”

He placed his cup on my side table and pushed off the sofa, stalking toward me, every step completely full of purpose. His intensity burned so hotly I took a step back, the heat flicking at my skin.

“I wanna give this a go.” My back hit the counter and shortly after, Blizzard was taking the coffee cup from my hands and placing it to the side. His hips pressed against me, and I took the opportunity to trace the tattoos that ran across his chest and down his abdomen. A beautiful pattern of swirls and curves that I remembered him telling me long ago were cultural marks that represented his club family. I took my time, my fingers trailing over the dark markings. He stayed silent as I did, until I couldn’t control myself any longer and leaned forward, beginning to follow the lines with the tip of my tongue. His hand went to my throat, but it wasn’t an aggressive maneuver. It was possessive.

My breath fanned across his chest and he nudged my chin up with his hand. “I can’t predict what might happen. What I do know is, I want you as mine now. We’ve just gotta make it through this. Then we have all the time in the world to figure the rest out.”

I smiled. “I thought I’d fucked it up for good.”

“We all make mistakes, baby. I wouldn’t be where I am today if people hadn’t given me a second chance.” His lips touched mine briefly. “This is gonna be our second chance. We may even need a third or fourth or who fucking knows how many. But as long as there’s this connection between us, I’ll do whatever it takes to make it work if you’ll do the same.”

“Whatever it takes,” I echoed, knowing that the words were true. I would do anything to make sure this worked. Because Blizzard was my end game, he was my happily ever after, my ride or die.

It was only a dream before, but now it was real. There was nothing that would get in the way.
