Parris was already shaking his head. "No. A girl. An Omega."

"What?" Elliot and I said together, earning a look from Parris.

An Omega.

Our Omegas had been torn from us by the Fae, and they whisked any Omegas in Sypani away before we could get our hands on them. Rogue Synians roamed the plains near the Xerai border, hoping to pluck the Omegas out of their hands before they reached the border.

I had no idea how many were successful, but now it didn’t matter.

Now one was here.

Any thought of my conversation with Elliot flitted out of my mind, the tension turning into a wave of shock.

"An Omega. Here." And alive, that was the biggest thing. Most of the Omegas the Synians came across didn't last long, but if Parris and I could get our hands on her...

"She is being taken down to the basement. If we want a chance to get her, we must hurry." Parris was already turning toward the door, I raced after him before I turned.

Elliot stood there, his face pulled into a smile that very well could have been stretched in pain. His green eyes didn't seem quite so bright, and seeing him there, naked except for my tail, nearly broke me.

What was I doing?

"I'll wait here," Elliot whispered before I could say anything, his voice breaking as Parris pulled me out of the room, the door closing with a snap.

"Stop pining, brother," Parris said, pulling me down the hall and towards the lift at the end that was already filled with Synians. "There are bigger things waiting for us. This girl could be the key to stopping Theon, to creating our own Omegas. To regaining what was stolen from us. Bigger things lie between the legs of that Omega. She will change everything."

I wanted to say he was right, but as we pushed our way into the lift, the tiny space filled with the screams of a Maiden being fucked in the back, I couldn't quite agree with him.

I had a feeling I just walked away from the one thing that would have changed everything.
