I could almost pretend he was his sister. That it was her eyes staring up at me, silently begging for release. “You are mine,” I whispered. “Say it. Say ‘I am yours, my King’.”

His brows knitted together, tongue darting over his lips as what was left of his will fought with his bottomless craving. “I... I...”

“I will give you everything you need. You need never worry over suffering the worst of your cravings. I will never leave you longing. I will take care of you. It was my brother who did this to you. I'm sure he didn't realize what he was doing. I doubt he does even now. All he wanted was to feed from you, fuck you, and to indulge himself.”

Again, I stroked his hair, and this time, he did not attempt to jerk his head away.

I continued on my musings. “He never did think much beyond what he wanted. I can't say it comes as any surprise. But you're free of that now.”

“I'm not free.” It was a whisper, one last attempt at standing on his own as a man.

“No. You aren’t. You know it; I know it.” I stood up straight, my gaze traveling to the round porthole which allowed for a view of the sea around us.

That was the only thing visible for miles, yet it wouldn't be for long. We would reach the shore by nightfall.

“At least now your sacrifice won't be in vain. Now, there is a purpose to you. More than fulfilling my brother’s carnal needs.” I looked at him again, found him watching me intently and probably wondering if I would bite him again.

“What? What do you want me to do?”

“It’s simple. You are going to help me get what I want. What I've wanted since before we met in the throne room. You are going to bring your sister to me.”

He licked his lips before whispering, “Jaide?”

“Have you another sister?” I laughed at his confusion. “Of course, Jaide. She belongs to me. She's my Omega, and she was taken from me. You are the catalyst that will enable me to reclaim her… once she kills you.”

“No. She's not going to kill me. I'm going to—”

“Stop. When you try to think, I lose interest in you. I scarcely have much to begin with.” I sank into a chair draped in a vivid-colored tapestry. Then, I smiled to myself as he attempted to make sense of what I’d told him. “Yes, she will kill you. She won't want to, but she will. It's already been foreseen. And once she does, it will leave the door open for me to reclaim what should never have been taken from me.”

I stared out the portal again, now admiring the cloud-covered sky. “She's out there somewhere. I can feel her. I grow closer to her every moment. Once you're dead, and she has nothing else connecting her to her old life, when she is so filled with despair and self-loathing for destroying you, then she will be mine for the taking. For your death is only the first step. After that, the rest of the plan will unfold. Everything is in place. Down to the last detail.”

I looked back at Jett, smiling at his dismay.

Then, I continued. “You do have a purpose, Jett, a far greater one than my brother ever gave you credit for. You are going to reclaim for me everything I've lost—not only your sister.”

Poor boy. He tried to fight. Whatever small part of him was left intact inside his skull, it fought to be heard. “She won't let you. It's not going to be that easy.”

I waved a hand, chuckling. “But you see, the wheels are already in motion. It's too late for her to stop me. Too late for both of you.”

He curled up again, clutching the cushions and staring out the portal as I did. It was just as well. He would need his rest for what was to come.

Soon, Jaide. Soon.
