CHAPTER13

New Beginnings~Olivia

I woketo Aiden already out of bed and fully dressed. The man reminded me of a walking espresso machine. He kept me awake all night, forcing me to ride him over and over again. He had the stamina of a horse with a large appetite. He ate every inch of my body, and I let him. Every time I dozed off, I would wake to his tongue wedged between my folds, greedily consuming me.

Being in his arms was surreal and nothing like I had ever experienced. A part of me didn't want to believe it. How could one man, a man that I met a few days ago, make me feel like this, like the most amazing person in the world. His heavy footsteps slid across the carpet, and the bed dipped when he sat beside me. His exclusive scent seeped into my nostrils.

"I have to go talk to a few more vendors. It shouldn't take too long." He brushed my wild hair out of my face and trailed a thumb down my cheek.

I shifted and pulled the covers up until only my eyes were exposed. The fabric of his shirt strained against his muscles with each movement, and I locked my eyes on his brawny biceps.

"Are you sore?" he whispered before easing in to place a kiss between my brows.

I lowered the cover. "No." I lied.

He’d battered my insides, leaving my folds tender, my nipples sore, and my legs heavier than bricks.

Light strains of his deep laughter peppered the air. "Well, that just means tomorrow I'll have to fuck you harder." He stood and walked over to the desk. "We have a couple of hours before we leave." He waved the brochure for the spa in his hand, and I sprang up.

"What time do we leave?"

"We need to be on the jet by 6:45 p.m."

Another soft kiss found the top of my head, and he turned to head out the door. I checked the clock next to the bed and threw back the covers. I had never been to a spa before, and this one was state of the art with all the bells and whistles. I took a shower and packed my suitcase, setting it next to Aidens near the door. Slipping into a soft t-shirt and jeans, I gobbled down the yummy brunch and headed to the spa.

The thumpof the jet landing on the tarmac woke me from my sleep, and Aiden slid his hand and up down my back as I lifted my head. Cradled in his arms, he found my gaze and kissed my lips softly. A heaviness settled in my chest as reality slapped me in the face.

The resort was a nice escape from my everyday life, but now that was all over. I placed my hand on Aiden's chest, and he brought my fingers to his lips. I liked what we had, our chemistry, the way he made me feel, but I worried about the string that tethered us together, wondering if it would break. Not only was Aiden old enough to be my dad, but we were from two different worlds. He had it all, and I literally had nothing.

As gloomy thoughts swam through my head, I cut my gaze to the window in an attempt to hide the worry on my face. The jet came to a complete stop, and the lights flickered on. I squinted and climbed off Aiden's lap. Slugging down the steps, I waited by the car as the driver loaded the luggage into the trunk. The beat of my pulse increased by the minute as thoughts of Damien crept back into my mind. The ride back to Stonebridge from the airport didn't take long. Aiden used the time to catch up on the emails I couldn't answer, and I kept my gaze to the window, taking in the blackened sky. When the car slowed to exit the freeway, I shot Aiden a strange look.

"Yes, baby girl?" he asked as he rested his hand on my thigh.

"Is the driver lost?" I asked as I took another glance out the window.

He gave a sheepish grin and slid his fingers into my hair. "Not at all. He's headed home."

I traded a glance between the driver and Aiden and tilted my head. "Whose home?"

"Ours."

My mouth fell open at his words, leaving a string of jumbled syllables falling off my tongue. I didn't know how to respond to his comment. My mind turned to mush. The car pulled up to the garage gates, and blackness cloaked us as we descended. Rows of luxury vehicles lined the garage walls before stopping in front of two golden french doors. Gearing up to force a sentence past my lips, Aiden pushed open the car door and grabbed me by the arm. I followed behind him blindly through the golden doors and into a lobby that looked like the inside of a palace. Aiden's lips fell into a cunning smirk, and he kept his eyes on me as the elevator whisked us to the top floor. Intertwining his fingers with mine, he guided me toward the lonely door at the end of the hall.

"Aiden, I can't—"

"Shut up," he interrupted, then separated my lips with his tongue for a quick mouthwatering kiss.

Looking down at his phone, he unlocked it with his thumb and shuffled through the apps until he landed on an icon in the shape of a house. Although a small cloud of uncertainty loomed over me, elation slowly rippled to the surface. The door clicked, and he pushed the door open and stepped aside. Extending his arm for me to do the honors, I released a breath and entered. Stepping out of my flats, the heat from the wood warmed my soles. His house reminded me of a modern-day oasis wrapped in a sheet of coziness and warmth.

My eyes landed on the floor-to-ceiling windows that overlooked Stonebridge. Hints of cinnamon and wood impaled my lungs with each breath, and I let my fingers graze across the leather furniture. I walked in circles, taking in everything before sinking into the oversized leather couch. I let my head fall back and met Aidens stare. It felt like home.

"It's big enough for Oreo," I said as I trailed my gaze around the living room once more.

"So? Will you stay?" He sauntered over and scratched the edge of his grin as he lowered himself between my legs.

I pierced my lips and raised my shoulders. "Mmm. I suppose."

Relief suffused his features, and he clipped a finger under my chin. "Good girl."
