CHAPTER 32

RAIDEN

Four days and my wolf was driving me crazy. We’d found our soulmate, but due to circumstances, hadn’t been able to mate with her or mark her yet. My human side told me that she needed time to adjust, but the beast within begged to claim what was rightfully mine. He’d grown more possessive and frustrated as the days went by, and now, as I watched her climb the stairs up to her room, all I could think about was shredding those tight jeans off and burying my face in every curve and dip her body had to offer.

She was ours. Ours to own and to devour, but I needed her to want it just as badly as I did. My pants constricted as my eyes followed the sway of her hips, the tightening of her ass as she climbed step after step. The handles of her suitcases dug into my palms painfully, but I clutched them tighter, trying to fight my Alpha into submission. He was done waiting. Had been for a few days now and I didn’t know how to suppress him any longer. It was just a matter of time before he’d snap and take her for himself. Animal. Savage fucking beast. I wished him to get the hell out of my head, cursing him all the way up the stairs.

Stop staring at her ass, you brute. I couldn’t. For the life of me, my eyes wouldn’t pull away from those magnificent curves.

“First door on the right,” I said as we finally neared the third floor.

She flashed me a bright smile over her shoulder, and I almost burst out of my skin. Gritting my teeth, I forced myself to look at her feet instead, continuing on. She was in the hall now, and – there, the click of a door opening. I looked up, seeing her enter and stepped in right behind her.

Gripping the suitcases with all of the strength I had, I made my way over to the dresser and placed the bags on the floor beside it. The room was bright in the afternoon sun and had a lovely view of the courtyard out back.

When I turned, she stood behind me, face alight, examining the room. There was no sign of tears, her sorrow having been replaced by something else entirely. Was it joy? Excitement? Hope? For the first time in years, a weight lifted off my chest, allowing me to finally breathe again. I did, gulping in air greedily, but her scent was mixed with that precious oxygen, and it sent me right over the edge.

My feet were moving on their own accord, and I heard a door slamming shut, a body colliding with it. Hers, I realised, pinned between my own and the wooden door. My face was buried in her neck, in her hair. My lips on her skin, nostrils flaring, taking in her very essence. Get it together. My tongue came out, lapping at the tender skin, warm and ripe to be claimed.

I was shaking, throwing a string of the filthiest curse words at my wolf.

Lily’s eyes met mine, wide and so full of emotion. “I’m sorry,” I managed, my hand coming up to brush sinfully slowly over the column of her neck, so completely exposed to me. The fangs in the back of my mouth elongated. No, no, no, not here, not like this.

She swallowed against my fingers, “it’s okay,” she said, her eyes dropping to my mouth.

I groaned, stepping closer and pressed my hips into her. “Don’t do that.” My voice was hoarse, lower than usual.

She swallowed again, “do what?”

“Look so damn innocent,” I practically purred, leaning closer, so close I could almost taste her. “It’s driving me insane.”

LILY

Raiden was fighting his wolf for control. His yellow eyes burned into me and between his lips, the tips of vicious canines gleamed. An itch began building deep within my loins. I wanted it, begged for him to take me, to claim me and to destroy me in whichever way he pleased.

Do it. Do it.

Scanning my eyes over him, I burned the image of him so close to me into my mind. The way he looked at me, the glow of his irises and the uneven rhythm of his breathing. His nostrils flared and the scent of our arousal mixed together in the air around us.

Do it. I bit my lip, waiting, eagerly taking him in. Raiden’s body has certainly changed over the years. His shoulders were broader now, his arms and chest more muscled. He seemed taller than I remembered. Definitely not a boy anymore.

Closing my eyes, I inhaled slowly, letting his scent envelop my senses. I was putty in his arms, absolutely overpowered by him. The closeness of our bodies affected me in more ways than I could have possibly imagined. His rough skin against mine warmed me all over, sending tingles of bliss buzzing down my spine.

With my eyes still closed, my skin came to life under Raiden’s lips, as he ran butterfly kisses down my neck, below my ears. I wanted to sink to the floor, to drown in him and forget about everything and everyone around us. A breathy moan escaped my lips as I enjoyed the tingles erupting all over.

He snapped, the hungry beast inside of him pushing forward. His hand flew to my head, roughly fisting in a cluster of hair, pulling to expose my neck to him even more. My eyes snapped open at his sudden movement, locking onto his mouth, to those canines gleaming with an ache to claim.

Do it.

His fingers dug possessively into my hair, left hand roaming down my body, over my waist, hips, thighs. He tightened his grip on me, eyes dipping to the curve of my breasts, an unspoken desperate longing to possess.

When he finally looked back up again, I captured his lips with my own, pulling him closer and kissing him deeply. I forced my tongue into his mouth, almost all the way down his throat and he accepted it eagerly. His body moulded into mine, a low guttural rumble resonating within his chest. My hands flew to his shirt, to his arms and stomach, exploring the contours of muscle, hidden beneath fabric. His taste consumed me, the smell and sounds of him overwhelming, but a loud knock sounded at the door.

“Alpha Raiden, your presence is urgently requested by Lady Tanya,” a female voice said from outside, making Raiden’s tongue still against mine.

He pulled back, eyes returning to their stormy grey and let out a loud, annoyed growl. His canines were still out as he answered, “noted.”

I studied him and yelped in surprise when his palm slammed into the wall beside my head.

“Tell her I’ll be right down,” he ground out, jaw clenching angrily.

“W-who is Tanya?” I rasped, still trying to catch my breath.
