“It was your idea,” she reminded, crossing her arms over her chest.

“I know. But you didn’t have to be so damn happy about it. What? You embarrassed to be seen with me?”

“You were being an ass! Much like you are right now.”

“Oh really?”

“Really!” she fired back, then snubbed my presence by giving me her back. Mumbles continued to come from her side of the car.

Damn she was cute when she got angry. If it wasn’t for my own aggravation tempting me to punch something, I would have been amused.

We fell into a tense silence. Me, trying my best to choke the life out of the steering wheel and Becka trying to pretend I didn’t exist.
