She raised her head to kiss him sweetly. “I was never worried.”
He pulled back to whisper the words she’d waited to hear for thirty years. “I never stopped thinking about you. Never stopped hoping for your return. Never stopped loving you.”
She didn’t ask why he hadn’t come for her and answered with the only honesty she had. “I couldn’t get here. Until now.”
“Now is the perfect time. As long as…” His words trailed off.
She knew what he needed to hear. “I never stopped loving you.”
“That is all that matters.” He moved to pull out, and she clung to him.
“Don’t go yet,” she whispered. “I want you right where you are. I don’t want to worry about tomorrow or the future. I just want this for now.”
He didn’t question her fears or ask if she might leave him. She didn’t question that he might leave her when she told him the truth.
All she cared about was that he was kissing her again, trailing his beautiful lips to her ear, blowing sweet nothings, licking her neck, sliding his hands up her body, smoothing his thumb over her nipple. Then, skimming down between them, he found the button at her apex and made her tremble all over again. His touch pushed her higher and higher, until sensation shot through her, and she cried out in uninhibited pleasure.
He thrust hard and deep then, grinding against her, drawing out her climax, pushing it on forever and ever, sweeping her off into a blissful oblivion where all that mattered was his arms around her, his taste on her lips, and his body deep inside her.
