“How can you possibly do that? There are no flights, and the ferry will take hours.”

He cupped her cheek. “I own a tour company, remember? I have helicopters and planes at my disposal.”

“Oh God, Xandros.” She threw her arms around his neck, hugging him tight, and whispered, “Thank you.”

“I will cook breakfast while I make arrangements. Change your flight and pack your bag.” He put in his earbuds, went to the kitchen, and she heard his voice amid the sound of banging pots and pans.

It was impossible to quantify how lucky she was that she’d found Xandros again, even more that he still wanted her.

Xandros arranged a helicopter to fly them both. They arrived in Athens in time for her to check in and hand over her bags.

They stood on the concourse outside the security gate. “Thank you.” She cupped his face and pulled him down for a last kiss.

“I could come with you.”

She’d gotten the last first-class seat. “I’ll be back. I promise.”

He put his finger to her lips. “No promises. We promised last time, and it didn’t work.”

She closed her eyes, breathed out a sigh. “Then it’s not a promise. It’s a knowing deep in my soul. We will be together.”

He rubbed his nose down her cheek, kissed the corner of her mouth. “What if Sienna doesn’t react the way you want?”

Her breath hitched. “She’ll react however she reacts. She might never speak to me again. She might never want to see you. Or maybe everything will turn out perfectly. But no matter what, my feelings for you won’t change. This time, nothing will get in our way.”

He held her close, tightened his arms around her. She breathed in his scent and his desire as he kissed her, long, luscious, and loving. She was aware of people sidling by them to enter the security line, but she didn’t care.

Finally, he let her go. “I love you. If you don’t come back, I will fly over to get you.”

“I love you. And I will be back.” Then she smiled at him. “Although it might be nice to have you hunt me down.”

“A deal.”

They parted slowly, their hands entwined, their fingers lingering in each other’s before they finally parted.

She repeatedly looked back as the line progressed. He watched her until she lost sight of him in the crowd.

But he was there.

And they would be together again.
