“Everleigh, you look stunning tonight. Enzo has great taste when it comes to what looks good on you,” Kevin says looking at me and Enzo. My response to him is a simple smile. I am certain Enzo will answer the question, providing every detail he needs and didn’t need to know.

“Of course, I did. Not literally dress her but I took the trouble of buying the clothes so she could look pretty for all of us tonight.”

And the dread begins. I think to myself and take a deep breath with a forced smile.

“Yes, you, Enzo, are the man who brings light to the party,” says Tomas, in a strong French accent.

“What do you think, Outlaw?”

“I have to agree that she does look stunning. You brought her out tonight, which I’m assuming means she looks good in your eyes,” he states.

Unlike Kevin, Jason, Tomas, and Enzo, Outlaw doesn’t express his compliment in ecstasy. It’s almost like he doesn’t mean it and I understand. Not every man thinks a half-naked woman is beautiful. He is just saying it to get on their good side and I am the only one who seems to notice.

“I appreciate that, Outlaw. So, I say we make our orders and discuss the main agenda of the day then play poker and call it a night. Do you know how to play poker, Outlaw?”

“I can’t answer yes or no. I believe my knowledge of the game is determined by my opponent,” he answers.

“Then we shall find out soon enough.” There’s a hint of pride in Enzo’s words. There’s a reason he is the king of poker and that reason is Enzo can confidently answer yes to the question he asked Outlaw. He always knows he will win; the bastard just loves watching people struggle and dwelling on their losing faces. The day he loses a game will be added to the list of the best days of my life.

Enzo orders for me as everyone else makes their own orders. I catch Outlaw eyeing me twice but I don’t pay much attention to it. He is obviously staring at my boobs or loving the color of my skin under the fishnet top. Men are all the same.

“Hades Inferno MC is a club that believes in balance and everyone getting what they want. We don’t judge or take sides. We do whatever task we are given, no matter how big or small. We ensure that any job asked of us is done smoothly with no hiccups. If you want us to have our bikes at top speed on the streets as we chant your firm’s name, we will do exactly that. If you want a quiet and head turning escort like Enzo did, that is exactly what we will deliver. As long as you don’t have us shooting in the air or smashing people’s cars or worse, beating people up because then, we won’t be on the same page.”

“Thank you for the detailed elaboration,” says Kevin.

“I had just one question, Outlaw.”

“What is it, Eva?”

“You said that your club believes in balance. What do you mean by balance?”

“I mean we take on any task except the ones I lastly mentioned. Tasks that are thought by the society to be illegal like drug trafficking and mafia protection. And then we put on charity runs and help where we can in the community.”

“And like I said, he offers exceptional service.”

“Thank you, Enzo,” says Outlaw.

“Any other questions?” Outlaw adds.

“I think you summed it up nicely. I mean until now I didn’t think I wanted to associate with a motorcycle club or have them help with my campaign. Please call me and we can discuss details,” Jason hands him a business card.

“Thank you so much, Jason. You will not regret this.”

“I can confirm that,” says Enzo.

“I believe that this is where we get to the exciting part of the night,” Outlaw rubs his hands together in anticipation.

“Ah yes, the time of night where Enzo takes all our money,” Eva says, a hint of annoyance evident in her voice.

“So, it’s your favorite game?” asks Outlaw.

“Favorite? I’d pick that game any day over anything.”

“I see.”

“So how do we do this? We have a new player tonight,” Tomas asks.

“Actually, Enzo, how about we play, just you and me?” Outlaw’s bold and low voice is cunningly challenging.
