Joey Miles declared the meeting open at 5.15 pm.

Carol Wallace (minutes taker) then proceeded to drink a glass of wine and start chatting and consequently neglected to write any notes of the proceedings. Oops.

As far as she can remember, the meeting didn’t precisely get ‘declared’ closed, but most people had drifted off to their homes by about ten o’clock when Will Miles refused service to Ken Kwongon account of the number of beers he’d purchased and the quality of the poems he was insisting on reciting.

Carol does recall a conversation in the ladies’ room with Thelma and Hogey (she is unsure why Hogey was in the ladies’ room and blames her faulty memory on the second glass of wine) about how epically they had succeeded with their Mrs Farmer Joe scheme, at which point Hogey tapped his nose and said, ‘You know, ladies, Joey ain’t the only Miles brat in need of a helping hand on the romance front … although finding a good bloke for that firecracker Daisy might have us scratchin’ our heads.’

Carol then walked (shuffled) home to her cottage off Lillypilly Street, warmed by the glow of having another meddlesome scheme on the horizon to busy herself with.

Life, she thought, as she removed her teeth and set them on the nightstand, was freaking marvellous.
