I nodded again. “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” Vinny got up. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta get out of here before she comes back. Fuck the business deal. I can’t do this shit anymore. I don’t care what Faith says.”

“She?” I asked, curious about the distaste in his voice.

Vinny shook his head. “You don’t wanna know. And you should probably leave too. Go find Monty. He couldn’t have gotten far.”

I sighed and got to my feet, hoisting Hunter on my shoulder. It was time to face the music.
