‘The four videos will go online tomorrow and the voting form shortly after, so get sharing if you can.’

‘Four?’ Holly asked, wondering if she’d missed something else by being late.

‘Debbie and Nick have dropped out, but you didn’t hear that from me,’ Annie replied, putting a finger to her lips.

‘Debbie and Nick?’ Jen gasped. ‘Why?’

Annie shrugged. ‘Debbie said she didn’t feel a spark and wanted to leave the competition. I felt so sorry for Nick.’

‘That sucks,’ Chloe said, looking sullen. She gave Ryan a hug.

‘I had my money on them to win,’ Holly said.

‘Hope you didn’t bet much,’ Jen teased.

‘Just goes to show, you can’t believe what you see online,’ Holly offered.

They’d looked so happy from the start. In Holly’s mind, they had been the ones to beat: suddenly the money felt closer than ever.

‘So, cocktails then?’ Annie asked, clearly trying to move the conversation on before she was asked to spill any more secrets.

‘Aye, got some complicated concoctions for Chloe and Ryan to try their hands at,’ Jen said, wiggling her eyebrows.

‘I can’t wait to see this,’ Chloe gibed at Ryan.

‘Hey, now. Just because you think I make tea the wrong way.’

‘How do you make tea?’ Jen asked, genuinely curious.

Ryan looked sheepish. ‘Milk first, obviously.’

‘Milk first? Are you a sociopath?’ Holly blurted.

‘That ain’t right,’ Jen said, looking disgusted.

‘Told you, babe. Something wrong with you.’

Ryan huffed. ‘Heathens, the lot of you.’

‘I’m glad we didn’t ask that for the quiz, Ryan. I might have had to disqualify you,’ Annie joked as she put a notebook in her bag. ‘I think that’s us. Isaac and I will edit these tonight.’

‘Thanks, Annie,’ Jen said, moving to the door to unlock it.

‘My pleasure.’ Annie let Isaac go first, before pausing in the doorway, a mooshy look plastered on her face. ‘I’m so glad this worked out for you. Lovefest is a success either way.’

Holly didn’t know what to say to that.Thank you? Any time?

‘You’ve killed it as usual, Annie,’ Jen said, leaning on the edge of the open door.

‘I don’t know about that. Feels good to have made a difference, though.’ With that, Annie was off.

Jen closed the door, checked it was locked, and spun round. ‘Let’s get this paaartay staaarted!’

Chloe slammed a lime on the counter. ‘Ryan, see if I find out you go lime, tequila, salt? We’re over,’ she joked.

‘What? Is that not right?’ he replied, pretending to be baffled.
