I expected Margot to object, but she simply sighed, letting me grab her arm. “All right, fine.” And we all made our way farther up toward the stage.

I thought it would be different dancing as Destelle and not Stella, but I felt perfect. I felt likeme. Margot was on one side, Addy on another, my two worlds colliding. Jonathan and Terry danced in front of us, creating a little circle of personal Untapped Potential fans.

And in the speakers, blaring loud, sang Harry’s voice, a rope tying it all together.

The strobe lights flickered and flashed in my eyes, and whoever was on light duty did an amazing job. Each beat and clash of a drum, each tear and snag on the guitar, and Harry’s beautiful, silky voice made this moment even more surreal. They sounded fantastic, and I almost found myself wishing I could record this show, play it on a constant loop.

With a quick glance around the crowd, I saw that they enjoyed the music too. The infectious energy that moved through the bodies only doubled with each beat and lyric and strum of the guitar.

I grabbed Addy’s upper arms. “You’re amazing for this, you know that? Seriously, the best girlfriend ever.”

“Trust me,” she said with a laugh, glancing at the stage. “Vincent made thatveryclear.”

When the people in front of us parted, I sawhimagain, and I swear, all the air vanished from my lungs. Poof. Evaporated. Gone. Because he looked like a god standing on that stage, the spotlight on him lighting him up in all the right places, on the planes of his cheeks, catching in the red of his hair. He wore one of his signature white T-shirts, black suspenders loose over his shoulders. The tattoo on his neck stuck out vividly, his throat contracting as he sang.

Hypnotized. I was totally and utterly hypnotized by Harry Russo.

Energy had been injected into him tonight, and maybe it was because he finally understood how beautiful it could feel to branch out. With each thump of the beat, Harry moved around the stage, smiling and singing out to the crowd. It was the liveliest I’d ever seen him at a gig and I almost couldn’t handle it.

We all danced until Untapped Potential ran out of their designated time slot. The band they’d opened for took the stage for the rest of the night. Sweat dripped down the center of my back, my heart racing as I finally, finally stopped dancing. Addy was all smiles, bouncing on her feet. “We have to go congratulate them!”

Terry glanced at Jonathan, a grin on his features. “I’m down.”

Jonathan tore a hand through his hair, his eyes very, very bright and happy.

We all started following Addy, as she knew where to go, but I stopped when Margot hesitated. “Are you coming?”

“You all go. I’m going to see if I can find Mr. Preston, see where his thoughts are.”

Margot’s tank must’ve been running on empty, I knew. She was introverted and tended to stick to herself. I didn’t want to push her outside her comfort zone—anymore than she already was by coming here tonight—but I wanted her to know she was always welcome with me. “You can come, you know.”

She shook her head, her expression content. “You go kiss your hotties. I’ll work my magic.”

“I’ll call a car to get home,” I told her, finally letting Addy drag me back a step. “If you don’t hear from me after spring break, my parents have probably killed me and buried me in the yard.”

“If they have, I’ll see you in the next life,” Margot called after me with a wink before turning away. “Oh, and Stella?”

I looked back, finding Margot giving me a rare, genuine smile.

“You were right,” she said. “I really did love Untapped Potential.”
