“You should write songs, Madelyn,” he said and blinked back tears just as the children came running.

The kids stopped and scanned the group.

Aria propped her hand on her hip. “Aunt Harper, did you make the guys cry?”

“No, it wasn’t me,” she answered and bit back a grin.

“Madelyn,” Phoebe said, wide-eyed, “did you use your nanny matchmaker powers to make the dads and uncles cry?”

“Something like that, Phoebe.”

Phoebe eyed Pamela. “Who are you?”

“I’m Pamela, Madelyn’s niece.”

“Nice to meet you, Pamela, Madelyn’s niece. I’m Phoebe Gale. Tell her my title, Sebastian,” the child said, then nudged the boy.

“Do I have to?” Sebastian huffed.

Phoebe tossed a pigtail over her shoulder. “Yep, you do.”

The boy sighed. “This is Phoebe, Princess of the Hot Dog Fairies, Bearer of Cookies, and Eater of Pizza.”

“These are my friends. That’s Aria. That’s Oscar, and that’s Sebastian,” Phoebe said, introducing the brood to the kindergarten teacher.

“It’s nice to meet you,” Pamela said, gifting them the sweet kindergarten teacher smile.

“Ms. Malone, do you want to swing with us like you did at our school playground?” Oscar asked.

Madelyn slipped her scarf around her shoulders. “My dears, I must be going. Before I catch my plane leaving for the coast, my niece and I are meeting Charlotte, Penny, Libby, and Harper for brunch.”

Aria cocked her head to the side. “But Charlotte, Penny, Libby, and Harper are here.”

“You are correct, but there are four girls with those names who also happen to be my great-nieces.”

“You named your daughters after us?” Charlotte asked with a crack in her voice.

“Oh my gosh,” Penny gushed and grabbed a tissue for herself and then handed one to Libby.

“As you can see, you four made quite an impression on me,” Pamela answered.

And cue the waterworks.

“Are you crying, too, Aunt Harper?” Aria asked.

“Yeah, I am. Magical moments can do that.”

“While everybody is crying,” Phoebe said, “can I ask you a question, Madelyn?”

“Absolutely, dear.”

“What will you do on the coast?”

Madelyn adjusted her scarf. “More matchmaking.”

The little girl studied her friends. “What about for us? Do you know who our matches will be?” Phoebe pressed.

Madelyn leaned forward and waved in the children. “I do.”
