He pulled out of Hester, taking a step as if he was going to come after me. His shaft thick and glistening and... pierced.

Jesus, how many of those things were in there? Wait, no. Focus, Sunday. This is not the time.

“Wait, Sunday. This isn’t what—okay, it is, but—”

I forced my gaze back to his face, fury replacing all other emotion. “And to think, I was here to apologize. You sonofabitch. You just couldn’t wait to stick your dick in someone, anyone. It didn’t matter if it was me or Hailey.”

“Heather,” the girl said again.

“Shut up,” I growled. “Get out of here, Heidi.”

Harley stood, righting her skirt and slinking off without another word. Smarter than I gave her credit for. Kingston strode toward me, cock swinging, still hard, still huge. The thing was a weapon of mass destruction, jutting from his hips. He needed to put it away before he hurt someone.

“You’re the one who rejected me. What the fuck right do you have getting pissed at me? You can’t have it both ways, Sunday. Either I’m yours, or I’m not. Make up your damn mind.”

“Weren’t you the one trying to complete our bond yesterday? How do you go from that to railing some random chick less than twenty-four hours later?”

“You. Left. Me.” He came closer with every shouted word. “How I choose to drown my sorrows isn’t your concern. If I want to bend Hannah over a tree and think about you while I fuck her, I will.”

“Heather!” I automatically corrected, my stomach twisting at his words. But I was too angry to focus on any other emotion. He was the one in the wrong here, not me. “Don’t even try to make this my fault. It was your dick inside her—”

“It could have been inside you, but you didn’t want it. Remember?”

My wolf rallied inside me, just as angry as I was that her mate betrayed her. Fingers turning to claws, I forced myself to control the need to lash out. “You know what? I hope you choke on your cupcakes.”

He blinked, confusion coloring his expression. “What?”

But I was already gone, running before he could see the tears threatening to fall from my eyes. I hated this. Hated that he made me feel this way. I just wanted to go back to regular old hating him, but I couldn’t. That’s why it hurt so much. He made me care. He told me he’d take care of me. Protect me. And then he turned around and rejected me right back.

So which one of us was the villain now?
