Oscar snatched his hand away. Grace glared at Kyran. “What the hell are you doing here?”

“We came to play pool. Got a problem with that?”

“Hey Donovan,” Sam said to me, daring to take a step closer to Savannah with a smug smile on his lips. The little arrogant fuck. I glared at him, draping my arm around Savannah’s bare shoulders—she’d soon lost the shirt.

Yanking hard on my temper, I just about managed to stop myself from punching Sam in the nose.

“Hey,” I greeted Savannah instead, kissing her long and hard to prove my point. “Sorry,” I smirked, stroking her hair back from her face. I also decided to throw Kyran under the bus. “I tried to keep him away for as long as I could.”

She smiled at me with longing. Not anger that I’d disturbed her night. I silently thanked Harrison for his words of wisdom.

Compromise.

Yeah.

I could handle that.

Love!my wolf shouted in my mind.Tell her we love her!

Shut the hell up!I roared back. Savannah wouldn’t be ready for such a declaration yet. I kissed her again to stop the words from spilling from my mouth.

A growl brought my attention back to Kyran who stood in between Oscar and Grace. “How about you two boys go get yourself a drink?” I suggested before blood was spilled. “Kyran and I can take over from here.”

“Sure,” Oscar blurted, quickly putting his cue back.

Sam didn’t move, eyeing Savannah again. Oscar tried dragging him away before I tore his throat out.

Savannah frowned. “You don’t have to leave, Sam. We’re in the middle of a game.”

“It’s fine,” he reassured her, happy she’d intervened on his behalf, the smug bastard. I lowered my hand to her waist and tugged her closer in warning.

Oscar dragged his friend toward the bar out of striking distance.

“Are you happy now?” Grace growled, her hand on her hip.

“Yes,” Kyran sneered, chalking his cue. “Let’s start a fresh game.”

“Do you still want to play, Savannah?” Grace fumed.

“Sure.”

Savannah slipped from my grasp and walked over to Grace, whispering something in her ear. The evil smile on Grace’s face didn’t bode well.

I understood why when they began playing.

Savannah had hustled me before, pretending she couldn’t play. But not now. She upped her pool game to obliterate us. But she also played dirty. With each turn, she caught my attention by bending over the table, leaning her breasts against the velvet, claiming she had to get the right position for the shot.

The thought of Sam seeing her that way, bent over the table before we’d arrived, had a growl bubbling in my throat. How dare the fucker have the right to ogle what was mine!

A crack and crunch got my attention. I’d snapped my cue in half.

Savannah laughed.

I frowned. “You hustled us. You acted like you couldn’t play the first time around.”

“Sure.” She shrugged. “That was part of the play, getting you to believe I was all sweet and innocent. But you should be proud. We just hustled fifty bucks from Sam and Oscar. How about you put some cash down and we’ll play again?”

“Not after I’ve seen you play.” I fed my fingers into the waistband of her jeans and tucked her close. “And not when I have to pay for a new cue.”
