Rolling over I was met with a brick wall. I reached out my hand still sedated from sleep. Luke. Blinking my eyes open I looked around, the bedside light was still on. Tossing back the covers I turned my lamp on and tip-toed to his side of the bed. He looked so peaceful sleeping.
Noticing the velvet box on his night stand I couldn’t help but pick it up. Popping it open the diamond danced in the light. It was perfect. There were still times I would absent-mindedly rub at my ring finger missing the weight that was once there. Putting the box back down I flicked off Luke’s lamp.
I made my way down the hall to the bathroom. Luke had always been a clean person so I wasn’t surprised when the bathroom was tidy. After I relieved myself I headed to the kitchen to grab some water. Walking around the house naked should have bothered be but it didn’t.
The fridge was bare. What did he eat? I usually took care of all of that so now he either drank his dinner or got a plate from his mom’s. I felt bad for him but at the same time he is a grown ass man. Opening the cupboard, I grabbed a glass and filled it with water.
Tip-toeing back in the room I was careful not to wake Luke. The coaster I had always used still sat on the night stand so I placed my glass there after taking a long drink. I slipped under the covers and flicked off the light.
Luke groaned rolling over. His arm came down on my side pulling me closer to him. His face nuzzled my shoulder. He was never much of a cuddler, especially when it was time to sleep. I was the same way, but right now this felt like I was supposed to be in his arms.
I ran my fingers along his big hand that was splayed out on my stomach. Turning back, I kissed his check. Being back in this bed with Luke asleep next to me gave me hope. Hope for us to work all this bullshit out and be us again. Closing my eyes, I let his soft snores lull me to sleep.
“Mhmmmmm.” Luke groaned at the sound of the ringing that seemed to be going on forever before he finally heard it.
His body was still wrapped around mine. Rolling on his back he made the sound stop before pulling me onto his chest.
“Damn I’ve missed waking up to your beautiful face.”
“Me too.” Smiling I ran my hand up and down his stomach. “What time is it?”
“Six. I gotta go to work.” He rubbed my back. “Shower with me?”
Nodding my head, he pulled me up out of bed. His hair was mused and his beard frizzing every which way. Fuck he was sexy. Not to mention the fact he was already hard.
“Still get morning wood I see.”
“Only at the sight of you naked in my bed.” He scooped me up tossing me over his shoulder.
Laughing, I stared at his bare ass the whole way to the bathroom. No complaints from me. Luke placed me down on the bathroom counter before he started the shower.
“Fuck that’s cold.” I shifted.
“I’ll warm you up soon baby.” He kissed my cheek. “But first you need a toothbrush.”
Pushing at his bare chest I gasped. “And you don’t?”
“Oh I know I do.” He winked at me.
I watched as Luke reached under the cabinet placing a towel next to me. Steam billowed up in the bathroom from the hot water. Luke turned on the fan before opening the shower curtain enough to get in.
“Ladies first.”
I hopped off the counter and stepped under the spray. I should have been prepared for the ass slap I got on the way in, but I wasn’t. I loved that he was still so playful with me.
When Luke moved in the first thing he did was re-do the bathroom. The shower had two shower heads and a bench along the wall. So there was no taking turns with the water or having to balance awkwardly when you had sex or shaved your legs. It was perfect.
Stepping forward Luke wrapped his arms around my waist. “Have I told you lately how beautiful you are?”
“Not lately.” I smiled kissing him.
“Well you are.” He looked me up and down. “Especially when you’re naked and wet.”
Rubbing on him I winked. “I’m always naked and wet around you.”
His hands traveled from my ass up my body until he gripped my boobs. Pulling my nipple in his mouth he sucked and grazed it with his teeth.
