I cross my arms in front of my chest, narrowing my eyes at the man who’s still examining me like I kicked his puppy.

Zeus must have gotten bored with our stare off, because his eyes have shifted over to Olivia—not a drop of water got on her, the lucky bitch. With a wide grin, he drops the big black bag from his hand and takes just the few necessary steps to stand in front of her.

“Where have you been all my life?” he questions, grabbing her hand and pulling it to his lips. I can’t help but laugh at how over the top and ridiculous he is.

This kind of attention—though typically more subtle—is nothing new for Olivia. She usually just laughs it off. But this time, she looks like a deer caught in a pair of headlights.

She’s quick to regain composure, a small smile sliding over her face. “Just waiting around for you, handsome,” she says, leaning down to pat him on his golden locks. Then she walks away, a bit of extra sass and sway in her steps.

“Oh my god,” she mouths, her cheeks tinged pink as she passes by me to get inside the cabin. I snicker again and look back at the angry man.

Seemingly used to his friend’s antics, he doesn’t even bat an eye at the odd interaction that just took place. If anything, he looks bored. He gives me a small dismissive nod and abruptly heads toward his cabin.

If I thought the front of him was something special, I wasn’t even close to prepared for the back of him. His ass is tight and round and—who am I?

This man has turned me into a hormonal mess in a matter of minutes, and he couldn’t even be bothered to wipe that angry scowl off his face.

Cool. Great. It’s not like I care anyway.

Except I do. My feelings are hurt, even though I don’t have any reason to feel that way. He doesn’t know me and he doesn’t owe me anything, but now, without his heated gaze on me, my body starts to deflate.

“Sorry about him,” the loud voice booms to the side of me. My gaze whips over to Zeus, who has picked up his bag and is pinning me with a curious gaze.

“He’s not usually that much of an asshole, but...” He shrugs, glancing back toward the front door of our cabin like he expects Olivia to walk back out at any moment. “My name’s Drake.” He extends his long arm out to me.

“I’m Addison. And the gorgeous woman you were just eyeing is Olivia.” I smile, taking his hand in my own. To his credit, his eyes never stray from mine, though I know my shirt has to be see-through at this point.

I release his hand and cross my arms over my chest again, chewing on my lip in thought. “Drake. That’s even better than the name I gave you in my head.”

He grins. “Oh yeah, what was that? Wait, wait, let me guess. Fabio?”

I laugh. “No, the hair’s all wrong.”

“Okay. Adonis?”

“Close,” I reply, suddenly feeling a little embarrassed. “It was Zeus.”

“Hmm. I like it.” He wiggles his eyebrows at me and adjusts the bag on his arm. “Well, I better go. But if you ladies need anything, don’t hesitate to come knocking.”

“Thank you.” I nod, watching as he turns away and makes his way into their cabin. I waste no time running back inside, and I slam the door shut and lean against it, letting out a deep breath.

“Okay, so that could have gone better,” I say aloud, feeling drained and, embarrassingly, turned on.

I’m sure Drake and his friend are in their cabin right now, laughing at the desperate girl who looked like she was going to run over and start dry humping them at any moment. At least Olivia had the decency to hightail it back inside right away.

Shaking off my embarrassment, I make my way to Olivia’s bedroom. The room is empty, but I can hear the shower running in the connected bathroom, so I open the door and sit down on the toilet, enjoying the warm steam filling the small space.

“Well, that was weird,” I begin, looking over to the large mirror that’s already fogging up. My father would be mortified if he could see me right now, prancing around half-naked with my hair in a rat’s nest and dark circles highlighting my exhausted eyes.

Good thing he isn’t here, and even better, that I don’t give a shit about his opinion anyway.

Olivia pulls the shower curtain back and gives me a pointed look. “You think?” She turns her attention back to the shower.

“Hey,” I exclaim, poking my head around the shower curtain. “I’m not done with you. What did you think about those two? You ran inside so fast.”

“Well, yeah. I was barely dressed, Addi.”

I wrinkle my nose at her, but she just laughs, throwing her soapy loofah in my face. I pull back as the shower is turned off and she steps out onto the bath mat.

“That’s fair,” I say, reaching out to wipe my eyes on the towel she wraps around herself. “The blond guy—his name is Drake, by the way—seemed to like you.”

“Eh, he’s not my type.” She leans over at the waist and runs a second towel through her blonde locks, purposely hiding her face from my view. I roll my eyes and pluck the towel from her hand. When she flips her hair back up, she sends me a grin and drags me off the toilet seat.

“Go get ready. I’m getting cabin fever,” she says, pushing me toward the door.

“We’ve been here less than twelve hours, and most of that was spent sleeping.” I dig my heels into the ground, trying to make my body as heavy as possible as I grip the doorframe. She continues trying to push me past it, a mess of twisted hands and laughter.

“Okay, okay.” I finally raise my hands in the air to stop her assault. “But for the record, that man is everyone’s type.”
