Page 190 of The Society

Looking over my shoulder, I looked him up and down, more than liking what I saw. He moved like a jungle cat and had the aura of a man in charge. Even with that presence about him, I somehow knew he wouldn’t fuck us over. “I wouldn’t do anything to find out.”

We found Army and Ale outside arguing by the pool. The second they saw me, they froze and waited for a sign on whether I thought Sebastian would be a good fit for the society. I didn’t know anything about Sebastian aside from what they’d told me, and while I’d hate it if, by some chance, he didn’t pass, I thought he’d make an excellent addition to the society.

I gave them a nod, showing my stance on the matter—one Sebastian didn’t have any knowledge of.

Santi appeared in the doorway with Pablo next to him. From the firm set to their mouths, I knew whatever they had to say wasn’t going to be good.

“Hermana, we’ve got a problem,” Santi grumbled, his eyes darting toward Sebastian. He wasn’t sure whether to say more in present company.

“We’ve got a problem with one of the trucks,” Pablo added.

My job was never done.

“It was nice to meet you finally, Sebastian.”

“Call me Bash,” he offered. I liked calling him by his full first name when everyone else didn’t.

My gaze went to my brothers, who were back to arguing. “I expect to see you at Sunday dinner.”

“Of course.” They moved in sync toward me and kissed me on my cheeks. “Sunday.”

They motioned for Sebastian to follow after them.

Being his own man, Sebastian took my hand in his and brushed his lips against the skin below my knuckles, sending a jolt of electricity straight to my clit. He looked up at me with his long eyelashes fanning out over his cheeks, and those light brown eyes told me he knew exactly what his touch was doing to me. “I hope to see you again soon.”

I wouldn’t mind seeing him either, but I didn’t utter those words aloud. Instead, I gave him a tight-lipped smile before I took my hand back. Then I sauntered into the house, following behind Santi and Pablo, readying myself to put out another fire.

Bash

For the last week, I couldn’t get her out of my head. She was in my every thought, and I didn’t even know her damn name. It was a slow day at the skate park since it was getting colder, so I decided today would be perfect for dropping by to see her.

Twenty minutes later, I pulled up on my bike to the gates that surrounded the house. A big burly guy stepped out of the shadows before I had a chance to even hit the intercom.

“Do you have an appointment?” He asked in a heavy Spanish accent.

I was sure he knew I didn’t. He probably knew of every appointment that occurred.

“I don’t, but I want to see the boss. Tell her Ba… Sebastian is here to see her.” Once she knew I was here, she’d let me through.

The big guy took two steps back, hit a button on the earpiece I now saw he was wearing, and spoke quietly. This was some next-level shit here. My eyes darted around to what I could see with the ten-foot-high stone security wall. There were cameras and bound to be more security guards on the premises. It wasn’t until then that I grasped the full extent of who she, Alejandro, and Armando were. They weren’t a small-time operation. They were the top dogs, and somehow, they saw something in me and brought me in.

Two seconds later, he stepped back up to me and my bike. His brows were pulled tight, and he looked pissed. I had a feeling he didn’t like my unannounced arrival.

I’d barely pulled up to the house before a man who had to be Ale and Army’s brother came out. He was tall with dark hair and the same dark eyes they all shared. He looked like one I saw the other day when I was here. If I thought the security guard was unhappy to see me, this guy was pissed. His steps were fast as he rounded up on me and pulled a gun to hold to my temple out of nowhere.

“What gave you the dumb fucking idea you could just show up here out of the blue?” He growled out.

“Santi,” she said in a bored tone. “Leave him be. He doesn’t know the rules.”

“Well, maybe someone needs to teach him.” A nasty smirk grew on his face. “I’ll happily take him out back and make sure he knows good and well what we expect out of this little bitch boy.”

Bitch boy?

I reared up on him, using the two inches of height I had over him to look down at this asshole. “You might want to think twice about calling me a little bitch boy.”

“Let me shoot him, A. He’s a dime a dozen.”

“He’s already been tapped to take the test.” Her voice grew closer until she had her hand on his shoulder and pushed him away. I got my first look at her in the sunlight. The sun glinted off her black hair, almost making it look dark blue. Her big brown eyes narrowed as she looked at her brother. Her plush lips were ruby red. What I wouldn’t give to have them around my cock, leaving red streaks that I knew I wouldn’t want to wash off for days. “Leave him. He’ll either be in soon or no more.”
