I shrug and lean in, trailing kisses up her neck to her face. “I don’t know.”

“I don’t want you to leave me.”

I lean back and catch her gaze. “Why would I leave you?”

She shrugs. “Reasons. Eric and Valery had an agreement, but I don’t think they love each other.”

“Why would you say that?”

“The way Valery reacted. It was like she did everything because Eric said to. Her take on life is that sex is a chore she has to do. She told me over and over again that women don’t enjoy sex. They are supposed to do it all to keep their man happy.”

“That’s sad.”

Adali sits up and pulls the sheet to cover her breasts. I tug it down and cup one, running my thumb over her nipple.

Her cheeks flame red. “I enjoyed what you did very much.”

“Good. And don’t think you need to cover up in front of me. I want to see your body.”

Even more red spreads across her chest and face. I wonder what she would do if I slid a vibrator into her and made her wear it while we did things. I get she would be constantly red-faced. A part of me desperately wants to take advantage of the situation and make her wear a vibrator when we go out, but I know that would probably be too much for her. Maybe I can talk her into wearing one for dinner here. I’d love to watch her squirm as I turned the vibration up and down.

“We should sleep,” Adali says.

“Yes. Scoot over and let me hold you.”

Adali narrows her gaze. “Is that something people do?”

“Yes. Now move. I want you in my arms all night long.”

I settle behind her, and sleep comes quickly. I wake to find her with her leg draped over mine, my cock inside her. It feels so good, almost like heaven. She rocks a little, and I slip in deeper.

“Oh fuck,” I moan as my balls pull tight.

“So good,” Adali says.

Before I can do more, I'm coming deep inside her. We didn't use a condom, but it's okay. Or at least it will be okay. In a few short hours, we'll be married.

Thoughts of my meeting hit me square in the chest. Would Adali make a decent society member? I watch as she goes about getting ready for her class. She’s beautiful. I doubt she knows how pretty she is.

I can’t say anything to her about the society. Her sponsor will approach when the time is right. Eric Gale could still influence her invitation.

“So tonight…” I wait until she turns to look at me.

“Tonight?”

“The person performing the ceremony will be here at seven.”

Her eyes go wide. “That doesn’t give me much time.”

“No, it doesn’t. Neither of us has had enough time to get used to this. We’re both floating in the wind on this. You and I both have been forced into something neither of us planned for.”

Her lips press together, and a wrinkle develops in the space between her eyes. “Are you disappointed?”

“In you? No.” I move to her and cup her cheek. “You’re the best thing that has happened in my life.”

Her lips turn down. “Is that the truth?”

“Absolutely. I don’t know how I lived so long not knowing you. Now that I do, I can’t imagine a future without you.”
