"Tor."

"Blythe."

Her lips parted, no words coming out.

The desire that was always there when she was around intensified to something he could not ignore. "I want to kiss you."

"I want…" she let her words trail off.

"Say ‘yes'."

Blythe licked her lips, so clearly wanting it. The question was: did she want it enough to overcome her reservations?

"I shouldn't."

"If I promise you won't lose Janne?"

"You can't promise that."

But he could. Even if they had the ugliest breakup in the history of breakups, Janne wasn't going to dissolve her friendship with Blythe. They were sisters.

It was time Blythe really started believing that.

"Nothing you and I do will impact your status with Janne."

"Says you."

"Would you reject her if she hurt someone you cared about?" he asked.

"I'd trust her to not have done it on purpose," Blythe answered without taking time to think.

"Don't you think she trusts and relies on you just as strongly?"

"Maybe."

"Anyway, this between us? It's just sex." It couldn't be anything else when Blythe didn't even know who he was.

She jolted, like his words had shocked her. "What?"

"I think the term is friends with benefits." Maybe that sounded better.

Else was always telling Tor he was too blunt and that he only got away with it because of his charm.

"Is that what you and Else have?" Blythe demanded, sounding annoyed.

"Else and I have never had sex."

"But…"

"Come on, Blythe. You were there when she told you we don't have any chemistry."

"But you told your family."

"Nothing that wasn't true. They drew their own conclusions." And he was pretty sure Geir still didn't believe Tor and Else were dating.

He didn't really know what Holger believed.

Their father clearly bought the idea.
