CHAPTER ELEVEN

"Someone is leaking sensitive information about my family and Tapt Oyer Global to the press."

It took Blythe a moment to realize they were talking about his reason for coming to her apartment, not their relationship anymore. "I noticed that. I brought it up to Janice, but she wasn't worried about it."

Janice's opinion was that there were too many ways to spy on people and businesses in their current age of technology, that it was an impossible hope to maintain true privacy in a family like the Asgersens, or even for their business Tapt Oyer Global.

Tor laughed, the sound harsh but still utterly gorgeous. "So much for my brothers keeping it from her."

"Why would they try to keep it from her?" Blythe's own brows furrowed in confusion.

His lips twisted wryly. "So, she does not get upset."'

Huh. Did they really think that Janice was such a fragile flower? "Well, she's not stressed about it," Blythe assured Tor.

"So much so that she has not brought it up to Holger. I gathered," Tor said dryly.

"What has that got to do with you rushing me out of my apartment without my phone?" Looking back, Blythe could barely credit she'd let him do it.

"The leaks coincide with your visits to Tapt Oyer."

"They do?" Blythe asked, surprised. But then horror washed over her. "You think I'm the leak?"

"No." A flat denial with no give.

Tor genuinely did not think she was the source of the leak? But why rush her out of her apartment then?

"Holger thinks I'm the leak?" she asked, still upset.

"He and Geir do not know who the leak is. They have tasked me with finding out."

"But—"

He squeezed her nape. "I think you've been bugged."

"What?" Another kind of horror crawled along her skin. "No, who would do that?"

"I do not know who, but if it's not via your phone, there will be an actual device attached to something else you have with you most of the time."

"Then it must be my phone. I change out purses for the season and my outfit. My computer and tablet get left behind too much and I don't have a piece of jewelry I wear every day."

As she said the words, Blythe realized they simply were not true. Her hand flew up to grab her locket in a protective gesture.

"Relax," Tor said. "If it was your locket, it would have triggered the scanner back at the apartment."

"You gave it to me."

"I know. And you wear it every day. You were wearing it the night you dumped me. I should have realized then…" He let his voice trail off, shaking his head.

"I didn't dump you."

"You most definitely did."

"I just pointed out that we cannot get married."

"Why is that, by the way?"

"No."
