Making no move to get off his lap, but not relaxing into him as she normally did either, Blythe looked up at Tor, tragedy written all over her beautiful features. "Do you know when she started?"

"The app was put on your phone eighteen months ago."

"But then she would have known about us."

"And she never sold that bit of information. She was willing to use you, but not hurt you."

"Should that make me feel better?" Blythe asked bitterly.

"It does nothing to mitigate Ms. Jones guilt, but only you know if it helps your feeling of betrayal."

Blythe's wounded eyes filled with tears. "It doesn't help. She hurt people I love. She has to be the reason news of Janice's miscarriage hit the scandal rags."

Tor agreed.

The miscarriage had made it into the tabloids before his family had announced their loss publicly, knowing that despite not going public with her pregnancy news of it would leak too easily. Janne had been kept from the media in those awful months, but Holger had not been so protected.

A king could not afford to be underinformed, even in the wake of such a terrible loss.

Tor had to stifle his fury toward Linda Jones. Right now, Blythe didn't need the stress of his anger added to her grief.

"Everyone is going to hate me." She sounded so forlorn.

"No, Blythe, they are not," he promised her. "Ms. Jones is at fault, not you, and our family knows it."

"I just can't believe she would do something like this."

"I am sorry."

"What will happen to her?" Blythe asked, though he could not tell if it was out of concern, curiosity or a desire to see the older woman pay for her actions.

Tor could do nothing but tell her the truth. "She will face charges and no doubt the loss of that coveted production role in the wake of her arrest. Not to mention, you will replace her on your own show."

"She can't work with me. I could never trust her again. But pressing charges?"

She had such a tender heart.

He shook his head though. "No, Blythe. You are not responsible for the consequences of her actions. She is not getting away with hurting you like this."

"Surely you mean, hurting your family."

"I say exactly what I mean."

"But I'm not the important one."

"You are to me."

She stared at him in shock. "But you don't love me."

"I care for you. You know this." He planned to spend the rest of his life with this woman.

Didn't she realize that made her the priority in his life?

"Blythe, min skatt, come to dinner. We have things to discuss."

Shocking him, she burst into tears.

Tor immediately realized that their plans needed to be postponed. He sent a quick text for his staff to take care of changing the reservations and plans, and then took his treasure into his arms and held her while she muttered incoherently about babies, betrayal the impossibility of building a future.
