Sure enough, standing a polite distance way, a valet waited to help them.

“Should we park and you can come up?”

Cara bit the pink lip he’d just been kissing. “Tempting, but we have plans.”

“We do?”

She pushed against his chest. “We do now. Ones outside of your hotel room. Go check in, and I’ll wait in the car.”

“Did I tell you that you look beautiful today?” Roman asked, tugging her hand toward his mouth, pressing a kiss on her skin.

“Not today.”

“Well, you look beautiful.”

Her hand was still on his chest, and she pushed again. “No more kissing in front of the valet.”

He chuckled. “All right, I’m going.” He climbed out of the car, then grabbed his bag from the trunk. After waving to Cara, he headed inside to check in. As he walked into his hotel room, typically, if he were on a trip without Mia, he’d be scrolling through emails and getting updates.

Right now, though, he didn’t care about who’d written to him or what might be going on. Lila or Thayne would reach out by cell phone if Mia needed something. Work and the show could wait. David had things well in hand anyway, and Roman had a woman waiting for him.

He set his carry-on on top of the bed, then headed out without unpacking a thing. It could all wait until much later. When he reached the car again, he climbed in. It was still surreal to have Cara waiting for him.

“I promised Mia that I’d FaceTime her when I was with you,” he said. “Can we call now really quick?”

“Sure,” Cara said. “Just so I’m prepared, what have you told her about this weekend?”

“That I’m taking you on a date,” he said. “And she asked me if you’re my girlfriend.” He paused a beat. “What should I tell her? You basically already agreed.”
