“Yeah, that wasn’t a fun reunion,” Jonah states, closing his eyes and letting his head fall back on the top of the chair.

“She just showed up here?” Meggy asks.

“Yeah, started demanding stuff and screaming. When they took her in she suddenly said not to do that in front of her son. Crazy. She’s absolutely crazy.”

Kellan scoffs, telling us exactly what he thinks about their mother.

“You’re not just going to suddenly disappear out of our lives again now that all of this is over, right?” I ask apprehensively. Whether or not Jonah and Kellan have issues, I like the guy and I’d like to keep him in my life. Him being in a relationship with Meggy will mean that he’ll at least be there in some way, but I’d like him to be here when she’s not here as well.

“I’m not going anywhere,” Kellan says, mimicking his brother’s move and letting his head fall back on the chair. “I mean, if you’ll have me. I kind of like the idea of having a family.”

“Good,” I say nodding, “that’s good.”

“I finally figured you out, Mor,” Jonah suddenly says.

“What?”

“You’re just a plain old hoarder. You have stacks of books everywhere, and you hoard people. You not only have four boyfriends, no, you also need a whole group of friends.”

I scowl at him. “No way, I’m an introvert.”

Meggy laughs out loud. “No, you’re really not. You like to think you’re an introvert, but in the meantime you’re really not.”

“Ugh, why are we friends again?” I ask her.

“Because I’m awesome and I love you,” she answers while snuggling into Kellan.

And I guess that’s really all there is to it. I’ve gathered, or hoarded if you have to believe Jonah, all these amazing people in my life and I love them. What more can a girl ask for?
