I shook my head. “It’s not. You did what you needed to. And I don’t care to know what happened to him. All that matters is that he’s gone. And that he will never be a threat to Crystal or anyone else ever again,” I said.
He stared at me, searching, his dark eyes hooded as he studied me.
Then he reached up and cupped my face with a hand.
“He won’t,” Davit said.
“Then that’s all that matters,” I responded.
A moment later, I reached up and grabbed the hand that touched my face, then linked my fingers with his.
Locked my eyes on his as I kissed him gently.
And as I lay in his embrace, a place I knew I would be for the rest of my life, I fell into a peaceful sleep.
