“But we don’t. Who does?”

“I bet you the magi do,” Calvin said in between bites. He found a loaf of bread and bit into it. “Either of you know how to contact them?”

Enola placed a hand on my arm. “We don’t need to. They’ll be here to watch the crone and make sure the creature sacrifices Rosalie.”

“Then we wait,” I said, the hope I dared to believe in taking fruit inside my heart. “We make our move during the ritual tomorrow.”

“Great, now who else needs a drink?” Calvin held up the decanter and I grabbed a mug off the table.

“Pour.”
