I know my feelings for Ashley don’t make much sense based on how I had treated her earlier, but I can’t help myself. I’ve been thinking about her constantly since the surgery, and the previous feelings of anger are gone. Left in their place is something I can only describe as downright attraction. I felt it in the O.R. earlier, but I merely brushed it off as a reaction to the stress.
And maybe it was. But you’re kidding yourself if you think that’s allit was. You like this girl, James. Maybe a little too much.
That thought scared me because I didn’t like what it meant. If Ashley was constantly on my mind, I wouldn’t be able to perform properly in the OR, and that’s the reason she got mad at me in the first place.
