I nod.

“She didn’t tell me she was seeing you either,” I tell him.

“That’s a bit odd. I didn’t get the vibe that there was anyone else. She seemed very focused and interested in me.”

“I find it weird that she would see the both of us again without telling the other. I don’t know. Honestly, I was really liking her- so I don’t really know what to think right now.”

“Yeah, me either.”

“What do you think we should do?”

“I think we should confront her later. She’s on the flight with us later. We’ll find a moment to pull her aside and ask her what her goal was here, because I’m definitely not interested in sharing her. Especially not with my best friend- and I would’ve thought that she would have the common sense to know that.”

“Deal. We confront her and tell her to choose one of us.”

“And what if she chooses me? You gonna be okay with that?”

“I mean, I guess I would have to be.”

The conversation comes to an awkward end, and we head to our gate together in silence. We avoid looking at each other as we welcome the crew onboard, and eventually the passengers. I even avoid looking at Hazel- I’m not really sure what to think about her right now.
