Page 5 of Two Pilots for Her

“Hm?”

“You’ve got to eat at some point, even a little lady like you.”

We walk up closer to her. She is still grinning.

“I’m usually pretty tired after a flight, plus the room service isn’t all that bad. I think I’m good, boys.”

“Oh come on!”

It’s Andrew’s turn to shout.

“You can’t come to Paris and spend all night in an airport hotel!”

“Why not?”

Her eyes are wide, pressing us.

I shoot Andrew a glance. She is different, and we like it.

“Paris is all about the night-life. You can’t see that from in here!”

She shrugs.

“I overheard some of the girls saying they were going for drinks around nine. I will meet you guys there if you’re into that.”

She scurries down the hallway so fast that we have no time to respond.

“Jesus Christ.”

Andrew whispers.

“It’s like trying to catch rain in your hands.”

“Don’t worry.”

I tap my key card.

“She’s bound to give one of us a chance,” Andrew says.

I wink. Andrew taps his own key card.

“Game on man, game on.”

After eating a hearty meal at a sweet local restaurant, Andrew and I head out to the club the whole crew is at. It looks like a few of them have been there for a few hours- some are very clearly drunk already. We order whiskey at the bar and chat for a few moments before spotting Hazel.

I tap Andrew, attempting a game plan.

“So this one is a hard sell. I’m thinking at least one of us can score her tonight. Let’s keep the points at five?”

Andrew sips his drink.

“You trying to play catch up my brother?”

I roll my eyes.

“I told you that one in Hawaii didn’t count, the plane had basically landed!”

“Yeah, yeah.”
