I slide out of my arms before my thoughts can get too wild.

“We should celebrate,” I say, smiling from ear to ear.

“I agree. Let me run to the store really quickly. I’ll meet you and Hazel back at my place in a minute.”

The drive home is a split-second long because my thoughts are all over the place. I’m bouncing wildly between arousal and excitement. My blood is pumping so quickly.

“I’m guessing it went well?”

Hazel giggles when I pick her up in a giant bear hug. Her feet are dangling just above the floor, but I can’t put her down.

“It went better than well. We’re making thisreal. Our lawyers and financial advisers told us that we need ourbusiness consultantor manager to help us make a detailed business plan or model or something?”

Hazel gasps.

“Oh my Gosh! This is going to be so fun, Andrew. So fun. I’m so proud of you two.”

I still haven’t let Hazel down from my arms, but I can feel her squeezing me back with serious force.

“Hazel, there’s no way we could have done any of this without you. Hell, there’s no way we can keepdoing any of this without you. I need you to see how extremely vital you are.”

She doesn’t say a word and I don’t know what she’s thinking because her body language doesn’t change in my arms. She doesn’t grow tight, and she doesn’t fall loose- she’s just frozen.

“Do you?”

“Yes.”

“Promise?”

Hazel giggles, bringing the lightness.

“Yes! Hey, where’s Dylan?”

“We want to celebrate our first step, and he said he was going to the store for something.”

The door to his apartment flings open and Dylan crashes through with some grocery bags in hand.

“Speak of the devil, and he shall appear!” Hazel says with a smile so wide it’s creasing her eyes.

Is it possible to love every single moment with two people so much?

“You two were talking about me?”

Hazel laughs.

“I was only asking Andrew where you were, don’t get any dirty idea’s mister. What do you have there?”

“Oh this? It’s our celebration dinner and our celebration champagne and our celebration snacks.”

Giggles and cheers seep through the doors as the night is filled with music blasting, glasses clinking, and dancing in the kitchen while we burn our celebration dinner. Any passerby might think we’re having a wild party, but instead the three of us are just a little high on life and high off of each other’s company.
