I want to brush my fingers through her hair, but I should clean up first. When I look over, Sean is still awake. His eyes are still blazing the way they did before, and he’s aiming them directly at me.

I point to the door, and he nods as we put our underwear back on and meet in the living room. The dark-haired man finds us whiskey and sets it next to me. I know he wants to talk. I think I do too, but I’m not used to this kind of intimacy.

“I’m sorry.”

Sean’s voice isn’t loud, but it tears through the silence, nonetheless.

“For what?”

“Just you know- for being so nasty to each other over the years. I don’t want it to be like that between us.”

“I’m sorry too.”

It doesn’t feel like my voice rips through the silence the way his has.

“About the fight… about the nastiness… everything. I don’t mean to be so closed off or such a hard ass, as you put it.”

Sean laughs and for some reason, I like the feeling.

“I understand why you are. The media, the company. The pressure, responsibility… it’s all a lot to handle and closing yourself off helps. I guess I give you hell for it because I don’t want you to have to live that way.”

That was possibly one of the nicest things anyone has ever said to me, and I have no clue how to respond, so I take a sip of whiskey instead.

My eyes glaze over his sharp jaw. His dark brows are the perfect frame for his eyes. His smile… it’s so handsome.

Sean -Sean Frazier- the guy I’ve always known to be a careless, wildcard, asshole, is so much more than that. A lot more.

“I’ve always wanted to be more like you,” I say.

“What??”

The look of shock on his face is priceless.

“Yes. Even Ican appreciate how free you seem.”

“Well, it didn’t come easily. I’ll tell you that.”

Sean claps his hand on my shoulder, and I instinctively scoot closer.

“We’ll work on it,” he says.

I nod and smile into my whiskey.

“By the way, there’s nothing wrong with being a hard ass. For some reason, I like it on you.”

My face is burning. There’s something so comfortable about Sean and why the hell is his approval making me so happy? This throuple thing might work out after all. In fact… I’mexcitedfor us all to be together.

“Let’s head back.” I say, lending him a hand as we rise off the couch and make our way back to the bed.

Evelyn is sleeping peacefully as we settle in on both her sides.

“Night, Logan.”

“Goodnight, Sean.”
