“I’d say put it on now, but that dress is gorgeous on you,” Sean says.
“It is,” Logan says.
He kisses me on the cheek and then gives me a hug.
“I love you more than anything Evelyn,” Logan says.
Sean puts his head on my shoulder.
“You are the woman for me, Evelyn.”
I feel a thrill rush through my whole body but then I remember what has just happened.
“This thing might be over but what are we going to do? We’re so different from each other. You guys are successful businessmen who are so very professional in everything you do. I’m just a student unsure of my future.”
Logan and Sean pull away from me. I feel this is a bad omen. Why can’t I keep my mouth shut? Why do I have to bring up our differences?
“You are an amazing woman Evelyn and I’m sure that you’ll be a successful businesswoman,” Logan says.
“Right. Why are you worrying about something like this? You’re going to be a fantastic businesswoman!” Sean says.
Rising from the couch, I feel like running to my room, shutting the door, and having a good cry. They just don’t understand.
“Hey, hey, I see tears. What’s going on?”
“You guys don’t understand. I’m a nobody now. You deserve someone so much better than me!”
Both men look at each other and sigh.
“Well, we didn’t want to have to do this…”
Logan picks me up and gives me a long passionate kiss. I am totally mush by the end of it. Logan puts me down and Sean picks me up, giving me a long kiss as well.
“Guys, you’re killing me!”
“Killing you with love!” Sean shouts.
Then Sean puts me down and the two of them sandwich me between them.
“Evelyn, you mean the world to me. Baby, I love you. You are my life,” Sean says.
“Ditto for me,” Logan says.
Sean breaks the sandwich and puts his hands on his hip.
“Ditto? What the hell Logan? This could be the most important moment of our lives, and that’s all you can say! I can’t believe it. We are having a moment and you “dittoed” us!”
Sean is furious. Logan looks embarrassed. I’m mortified. I’ve never seen Sean so angry.
“So, what do you have to say for yourself Logan Davis Klein!”
Logan looks exasperated. I begin to back away to my corner when Sean pulls me back in.
“I believe Logan has something important to tell you. Mr. Klein?”
“Oh, that’s okay. There’s no problem,” I say.
“Hey!” Logan shouts and grabs me.
