Damn him!

I get the why behind his taking off, because I wanted to jump out of my skin when Kelly asked us for a second threesome. He must be dealing with it on a different level. I don’t really think that he was into the one last night. Trent, like me, probably bluffed his way through it.

I mean, I’d rather have been with just her myself, and everything she and I did together was awesome. But Trent being there takes it to a higher level that I’m not sure I care for. It’s a private thing between a man and a woman.

Anyway, shouldn’t he be back from wherever he ran off to?

My entire body is dealing with so much shit right now that I can’t even begin to straighten it all out in my head. Pacing the floor, I feel the beat of my heart rise up through my neck.

It’s just not like him to be out somewhere this late. Add to that the fact that I found his phone on top of a bed of hay. Whether or not it was on purpose, he has no way to contact anyone should something happen to him, or his horse.

Not to mention broken or damaged equipment and crops that get ‘sick’ and die. And cattle missing. I shake my head and look out my window again, scanning the lower fields for my best friend. I’m fucking chocked full of angst as to Trent’s whereabouts and my nervous nature is taking over I let the curtain down and shake my head.

He needs to get back here, and fast. Not only is it dark now, but whoever is throwing the proverbial monkey wrench at our ranch, is still out there. It’s not as safe as we once thought. And I miss my friend.

I just want him back here safely.

Kelly’s words are running through my head and my nerves are skyrocketing over her desire for another threesome. I’ve heard of being forward, but this is a train about to be derailed. I can’t see how this would make anything better.

For me and Trent.

I check the window again, and still no sight of Trent anywhere. I decide to go talk to Kelly, even though I’ve avoided her since she asked her great question.

Great question. Is it though? Not sure.

I lock my door behind me, wondering when I began to lock the door. We never have until now. Nothing is safe here. People, plants, animals, and crops. For that matter, the perp has most likely taken much more than we know.

I walk down the steps in search of Kelly, the one that has forever turned my life lopsided. Never have I met a woman, or a man, that proposed such a crazy thing. I’ve never thought, even for the slightest second, that I would be interested in sharing a girl with a guy at the same time.

But it was erotic. None can deny that.

As I walk past her place and see no lights, I wonder where she went. Starting to walk, I can see the slivers of dimmed light coming between the slats of wood in the barn. My mind immediately thinks that it’s the asshole causing all of the trouble.

I go to sneak mode and as I approach the barn door, I peer in, but see no one. The ceiling lights and the rail lights are turned to the lowest setting, only emitting a small amount of light. Looking around the edge of the barn, I find a small shovel. This’ll come in handy. If I see that jack off, I just whack ‘em over the head.

Stepping into the entrance of the barn, I creep down each stall and look inside them for someone ready to jump out at me. The further I go, the more my heart races, hoping and praying that this isn’t what I think it is.

Rounding the last stall, I stop, frozen to the floor. In front of me by the table is a person working on something, trying to be as quiet as they can. Even though my heart is climbing my chest walls to my throat, I tiptoe toward the figure and take a swing.

Fully missing them, the figure turns with eyes wide and a hand to her chest. Her? I find Kelly standing in the barn, fixing another injector beneath the dim light. “Oh my fucking god!” she screams. “What in the hell are you doing?”

I let the shovel fall to the ground and stand there in shock, thinking about what could’ve happened. I could have killed her! Quickly placing my hands up, I back away and say, “I’m so sorry, So very sorry,” I clamor.

“How could you not know me?” Kelly asks in fear and anger? “You’ve seen me fucking naked! What would you have done had that shovel hit me?”

So many questions all at once, trying to pull me away from my own intentions. “Well, excuse me!” I say standing up once my ire is ignited. “I don’t usually see you in farm garb!”

She giggles a little and then comes closer. “I suspect you have a better view from behind with my clothes off.”

“Yes, I do,” I begin to chuckle myself. “Say, have you seen Trent lately?”

“Nope.”

“It’s not like him to stay out after dark, so I’m a little worried about him,” I offer an explanation. “And he doesn’t have his phone on him.” I show her the phone I found on top of the hay. “This means, ‘leave me alone.’”

While in the barn, we hear the unmistakable sound of horse hooves.
