I didn’t even think to ask her why I would possibly need to try on one of her dresses until I stood in her gigantic walk-in closet, wearing the most gorgeous dress I’d worn in years: a halter top with an empire waist. Our difference in chest size didn’t matter, although my breasts did seem noticeably larger than they had a few days ago.The fabric flowed over my belly, only skimming the curves that were becoming more apparent almost by the minute, it seemed.

“That color is gorgeous on you.”

It really was.A deep fuchsia, it wasn’t quite purple, but a deeper shade that shimmered brightly when I moved.I let Roxanne pile my hair on the back of my head in a simple yet surprisingly stunning up-do.She finished off my look with thin silver feathers that dangled from each lobe.I hardly recognized myself when she was finished. But in a totally good way.

“I don’t know what to say,” I breathed as I turned slowly in the mirror.“I look like me, only...”

“You’re glowing.”

I laughed.“I’m hardly glowing.”I stopped turning and looked at her.“Thank you for this.But...”I shook my head, still confused as to what it was exactly we were doing.

“Don’t worry about it.”Roxanne grabbed my hand again and before I knew it, I was being pulled gently out of their suite and back down the path that led to the water.

“Where are we going?”

“There’s something I want to show you.”

I laughed, caught up in the complete silliness of what was happening. It had been so long since I’d spent time with a girlfriend just having fun, I’d almost forgotten how to do it.But when we turned the corner that led to the beach, my laughter died on my lips.I stopped so suddenly, Roxanne almost fell over.

What was going on?
